Corey Hill, who first came to our attention on The Ultimate Fighter Season 5, has unfortunately become better known for suffering one of the worst injuries ever seen in the octagon when he broke his leg in a fight with Dale Hartt.

The injury occurred back in December of 2008 at the UFC: Fight For The Troops event, and he hasnít fought since.

The good news however is that Hill, now 31 and fully recovered from his leg break (though he still has a rod in his leg), will make his competitive return this Saturday night in Niagra Falls, NY, at the ĎRaging Wolf VIí event.

The lightweight fighter, who holds a record of 2-2 (1-2 in the UFC), faces off against local prospect Jason Trzewieczynski (3-2), who is moving down from 170lbs for this bout. The fight is seen as the first step towards a return to the UFC where Hill remains under contract.

Itís not clear at this stage how many fights Hill will face in regional promotions like this before being given the green-light to return to the promotion. Considering he is still relatively inexperienced though, the opportunity for the fighter to get some more fights under his belt before making his way back to the big stage could be invaluable for him.

Whether he wins or loses on Saturday night, in many ways just being able to compete again after such a serious injury will be a victory in itself since doctors initially believed that he would never fight again.

Hill wonít be the only familiar face at the Raging Wolf event, as it also features two other former UFC fighters, Luigi Fioravanti and TUF 8 competitor Shane Primm who will fight in the main event of the evening.

Best of luck to Hill. His going back into the octagon is a testament to his heart and perseverance.

Truly, though, that injury was wicked, and I think he should start looking for a back up career plan.

I still can't believe Hill fights at and is continuing to fight at 155.

The guy needs to go eat a couple hamburgers and move up to 170.

Wonder if he'll be throwing many leg kicks?

I'm happy he was able to come back after that though, I always liked him on the show and I'm not sure why.
