Franklin vs. MacDonald - UFC 68

Well it looks like Rich will be fighting Macdonald at 68 according to the MMAweekly rumors section. I was wondering what everything thinks about this fight.

I really do like Macdonald but I don't think he is ready for a former world champ. Don't get me wrong, he is atheletic machine and both his victories were impressive. But he did beat two guys who were more known as personalities than fighters. Taking nothing from Herman or Leben because I respect anyone who fights, but they just aren't on the level of Evan Tanner, David Lousiuea (sp?), Anderson Silva, or even Nate Quarry IMO. I would rather see Swick VS Macdonald as I think they would make an exciting fight. Not saying Franklin VS Macdonald wouldn't be exciting, I just think its a much more predictible fight, which for me makes it less exciting. I.E. Tito VS Chuck, I was trying to take $100 bets in the bar with Tito fans saying he wouldn't make it to the 4th round, but nobody was that dumb. Off topic sorry but that macth-up pisses me off. Tito was no where near title contention. I hope he fights Babalu next and Babalu pops his big giant head off with his legs via triangle choke. man i hate Tito.......

MacDonald is quickly becoming one of my favourite fighters, shutting up those meatheads, but yeah, Rich might be on a separate, higher level, good luck to Jason though

Herman and Leben are both excellent fighters in my opinion. MacDonalds performance vs Herman was amazing and his jiu jitsu is perfect. I think him vs Franklin would be a good match, kinda reminds me of the first GSP vs Hughes showcase, Canada vs US Champ (former in this case). Either way, I think it would be a good matchup

I hope this doesnt happen for Macdonalds sake. He a good fighter dont get me wrong, but damn he would have to be crazy to fight Rich after he got embarassed like he did.

^^I like the fight against Swick. Makes more sense. I he wins that fiight he would be in the title contention. But lets not get ahead of my self.

Tito nowhere nears title contention? I dont care for him myself. But 5 wins in a row is worth a shot. Condidering every fighter has a fighters chance.

The best thing for MacDonald is if people keep failing to take him seriously. He's getting good at surprising people.

not.. Leben is nothing more than a wannabe Chuck. And well Herman...his last fight speaks for it self

Have to say the same as above, MacDonald is not ready for someone of Rich's calibre. Not this next fight, maybe the one after. How bout MacDonald vs Swick and Franklin vs Danny Abbadi (haha). Maybe Franklin vs one of the TUF guys from Season 4 or Louiseau again. Anything but this for MacDonald, he's not ready. But a couple more tapouts and he'll be primed for the big time, bringing the 2nd belt to Canada!

IMO

MacDonald is the shit. He's doing really well so far. When it comes to Franklin.......I don't see him doing as well Someday he will be able to hang with the big boys but for now he isn't ready. Good luck to him though, honestly, I'd love to see either man win.
