Yeah we get the point, you think BJ will destroy Frankie. You make it sound like it's me fighting BJ Penn though, Edgar can fight and do it well, and although good chance he does lose but i guarantee has more success then KenFlo, Diego or Joe Daddy did.

When's the last time BJ fought a technical striker (that actually stood and threw strikes, so kenny doesn't count)? GSP? Oh yeah he got out struck.

BJ has a ******* MEAN jab, but I wouldn't say he has some of the best hands in MMA. His hands are good, for sure, but it's been a while since he's faced a good, technical boxer with good TDD and some pretty good sub defense at that. As I said, BJ wins this fight, probably 4 out of 5 times, but Edgar has a better chance than BJs last three opponents did. Kenny had a good shot but he blew it being a moron, I'm hoping Frankie doesn't make that mistake. BJ is a fantastic fighter, don't get me wrong, but he's also the most beaten champion in the UFC right now, so it isn't like he's inhuman.

that's right a MINUS 46% chance.

He's a small not close to being as good version of a GSP, poor guy doesnt stand a chance.

They say *anything can happen in a fight* not this one tho lol.
I think you are underestimating Frankie here, the guy is certainly against the odds but he will put on a solid show, the reason he has progressed this far is because of skill and hard work, he is still a tough opponent.

Good thread . . . +rep for that . . . but . . . I think it's crazy to totally count out Edgar as some have said. At LW, Edgar is the best boxer he has faced. Yes he's small and no he doesn't have a lot of power. BUT, he always comes to fight, he has a good chin and good wrestling. I do not think BJ will take it to the ground and I know Edgar won't (probably because he won't get BJ to the ground). I truly think this will be a stand up war. I don't see Edgar finishing BJ, that's next to impossible. But I could see Edgar winning a slight decision IF he has a really great night and BJ doesn't.

Let me make clear that I do think BJ takes this. But, I give Edgar a better chance than anyone right now at lightweight soley on the fact that he has the best hands at lightweight.

R.I.P Frankie 'soon to be dead' Edgar.\

He may have more accurate striking than Diego but I guarantee BJ will make him miss all night and counter him. Should be another exhibition of vicious hands from Penn. I cant see Edgar making it out of round 2.

Being good at scrambling wont help him either he is in trouble.

Put me in the camp of not counting Edgar entirely out of this fight. This guy has been improving steadily in each of his fights, we are going to see somebody different when the BJ fight comes around.

Frankie's boxing has impressed me but I have no idea if its going to be enough against Penn. If it was the BJ of old I might say Edgar had a chance of wearing him down and out striking him in the later rounds. As it stands now, if Edgar's boxing is better than Penn's, BJ doesn't really have the option to change the fight up, I don't think he can take Edgar down, and Frankie could win a decision that way.

This is the best boxer BJ has faced and I expect to see a boxing match. I think its going to be one of those fights, (like the diego fight) where the first exchange is going to reveal pretty much how the whole thing is going to go.
