Edgar is a much bigger underdog. Hardy has the striking to beat gsp, Edgar has nothing that can beat Penn. Lets look at this realisticly, when was the last time a 155 fighter touched Penn standing up, or had him in any danger?

Hardy has some great stand up and if gsp decides to stand and trade with him then it would be no surprise to me if Hardy wins (i know gsp wont do that).

No matter what Edgar does he will come of as second best, he doesn't even have a punchers chance imo

Hardy, based purely on lack of fights at the top level. But in reality, both. Neither will win.

Edgar for sure he really has absolutely no way to win this fight, where Hardy has the slight chance of pulling a Serra, he actually has a better chance than Serra did I think. Which still isnt good, but if youve been knocked out once it can happen again. Bj has never even been hurt standing.

In my eyes, Edgar is the bigger underdog.

Hardy has very good striking now and it's improving every fight. Sure, he probably won't get more than 30 seconds a round to use it but he has a chance of landing one of his big punches, and he hits pretty hard.

Whereas with Edgar I don't see that raw power in the punch and technically BJ Penn is one of the best boxers in MMA. I definitely don't see BJ getting caught on the feet and although his wrestling is good, how is he going to get BJ to the ground in the first place?

I give Hardy a 10% chance of winning and Edgar a 5% chance.

Georges St-Pierre
Nick Diaz
Cain Velasquez
Frank Mir
Demian Maia

And... Fedor!

I cant be the only one who gets sick of hearing this.
You know, GSP's ground game Is so incredible good that his striking never gets the respect It deserves.

GSP Is a far better striker than Hardy.

Remember a year ago this forum was flooded with comments about how Alves would destroy GSP standing but GSP picked him apart there aswell.

I voted for Hardy when I first saw this thread, but now I think it's Edgar. I don't think anyone at 155 really has the power to bother BJ. He's only been TKOd by GSP and Hughes. I can't see Edgar knocking BJ out or submitting him, I think his only chance is to get a decision. Hardy at least has the chance to land a good before he gets taken down, so I'd have to say Edgar is more of the underdog (but I'm not putting any money on either of them, lol).

Sorry i disagree. Gsp has great stand up but its not better than Hardy's, when was the last time gsp finished a fight standing up? Hardy imo is no2 for standup at 170, after semtex daley. If this was a k1 match would gsp be as much as a favourite as he is now? No he wouldnt, however its not k1 its mma which why Gsp is superior. His all round game is as good as anyone's. Gsp only picked Alves apart standing because of the take downs. Again if Alves didnt have to worry about take down's then i doubt it would have been the same fight. Yes i am well aware take downs are a huge part of mma however i cant stand it when people over rate gsp's pure striking ability. He has great stand up yes, however its not as good as some people make out it is

Think of it this way, could Hardy hold down Alves or would Alves hold Hardy down.... Obvious to me....

Now i think GSP will easily be able to do more to Hardy on the ground then he was with Alves...
Time for more debate my friend! Hardy is 3 inches taller and with 4 inch reach advantage over Alves. And not in that skinny Mike Swick kind of way. Hardy is a chunky fecker. Easily one of the biggest WWs in the UFC.
