Mike Swick: Forget GSP -- I want a Dan Hardy rematch

http://www.mmamania.com/2010/1/21/12644 ... want-a-dan

"Winning this fight (at UFC 109) is super important; I don't like losing. I hate losing that's why it still hurts so bad after my last fight, but I have an opportunity now to get back on the winning track. If I were to win this fight and get a choice between a title shot or Dan Hardy, I would choose Dan Hardy. I want that rematch, and I want to go out there and have a better performance and perform to my ability. That's kind of what my goal is so it all leads with this fight. I have to go out there and do what I have to do to get this win and then more opportunities will come. I want to be the first guy to stop him. I really want to be the first guy to finish Thiago. I think that would prove something."

UFC welterweight Mike Swick is hoping for a dominant performance over Paulo Thiago at UFC 109: "Relentless" from the Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas, Nevada on Feb. 6. "Quick" is coming off a disappointing unanimous decision loss to Dan Hardy at UFC 105 back in November. It perhaps stung more than any other loss because it had championship implications on the line and "The Outlaw" is now set to challenge for the 170-pound belt at UFC 111 in March. Swick wants another crack at the Brit -- even if it means passing on the chance to fight Georges St. Pierre. Can he first get past Thiago?

Personally, I have given up on Swick, used to be a huge fan, way back when.

He was dominated and looked to skinny IMO, he should move up to MW and forget Hardy, who I thought was tougher and just plain better.

Swick should focus on getting by Paulo Thiago... that's not gonna be a cake walk for him.

I agree, if he can beat a guy like thiago and and daley we'll talk about a hardy rematch. There was nothing he showed in his last performance that suggests to me that he can beat a guy like thiago yet. So we'll see....

Swick is insane to be looking past Alves. I already thought he had very little chance to beat Alves, and if he is more concerned with who he fights after, forget it, he is getting murdered.

I guess if he was fighting Alves then yeah that would be insane. ;-) He is fighting Paulo Thiago.

I don't like Swick at welter weight, he just has no power and his speed didn't seem to be helped at all either. He lost to Yushin Okami at MW, so have a lot of people. Just put on some more bulk and head back to 185.

Wow, Davis and Swick are obsessed with Hardy now (Well, Davis was obsessed prior to the fight).

Hardy and Brock have the best smack talk in the UFC, because they have fools stalking them.

Swick's also taking on WW solids. Swick was fighting dudes like Ray, Schoenauer (Though, to be fair, he has gotten better....at surviving) and Vigneault would make anyone, who is decent, look like a contender. Okami and Riggs were his only solid MW opponents, and Riggs is inconsistent. Shouldn't surprise anyone that Okami pushed his shit in and scared him of the 185 division.

At WW, he shows he can be solid against solid guys.

Tito is good with talking shit. Matt Hughes too, but he doesn't do it in a way that's blatantly talking shit. He just says normal shit, but it comes off in such an arrogant ''high and mighty'' and it's comedy.

Yea. I love Hughes flavour of shit slinging. That smug twatish face putting down somebody like hes criticizing a chocolate bar. Mir also rocks in this department.
