As long as BJ Penn is in the lw division of the UFC I would much rather see Huerta in SF...just because I love his fights and know for certain that he wouldn't be able to beat Penn and he could have a rough time with maynard again, Kenflo, edgar, and another good wrestler like Sherk or Griffin could give him some fits.. As much as I would love to see those matchups I think he could potentially lose any of them..He is a very exciting fighter but his only somewhat impressive victory in the UFC over a "worthy opponent" was submitting Clay guida, he lost two decisions to florian (i finish fights) and gray (lay n pray) maynard who were the toughest he faced so well see..SF is better suited for him right now.

Great news, Huerta's the kinda fighter that always puts on a show and engages the fans - kinda like Guida - but much more well-rounded. I can see the UFC getting him back but only on a 2-3 fight contract. If they don't, SF takes him (im surprised they havent tried harder to be honest).

Thanks to limba for this AWESOME sig

But honestly who would you put him up against? I really like Huerta too, much more so than guida who is basically just a big ball of energy with long hair..

I just cant pick a good matchup for him in the UFC lw division because it is so stacked right now, I dont want him to lose his first fight back but at the same time dont wanna Joe Silva feeding him cans either..

I see much better matchups for him in the LW division at SF..

Plus we might get to see Huerta vs Aoki copromotion, the unsubmittable meets the best LW submissionist.
Imagine if he came to the UFC... It would be even better because he could fight even better fighters...

Edit: The post above makes a little bit of sense, after all the competition might be too tough for Huerta in the UFC

Just kind of sick of seeing posts that make SF sound like it is so much better and talented then the UFC when it isn't.

PoopDog talked to Huerta about his plans for the future.
"I can't go out with two losses in a row. I don't think I'm going to call it quits anytime soon. I'm still open to acting. Hopefully we get something going with that, but I'm not going to prioritize (acting) now. I'll still prioritize fighting. If the UFC wants me back, I'd be willing to go back."
What changed to cause Huerta to shift priorities, again. Most likely he over estimated his cross over appeal and couldn't find any bit roles in action movies. Roger still has some serious name recognition and could be a valuable asset for Bellator or Strikeforce so he will have some leverage in future negotiations. Unfortunately for Roger it appears that the UFC has washed their hands of Huerta.

And like How Life B Ez pointed out, i dont think Dana is going to want Huerta to become another to jump on the Strikeforce bandwagon...

I know that the UFC has up to a year to match any offer lets see what happens
I don't think Huerta is that high up on Dana's list. He hasn't even offered him a contract yet and it's been months.

Dana White was alright with letting Hendo jump to Strikeforce after the biggest highlight in his UFC career. I don't think he'll fret over losing Huerta.
