true strikers dont practice bjj?

fighters who rely solely on strikes to win dont seem to practice much of bjj at all... i think i saw chuck training and crocop. All they do is train on how to sprawl? and get off the ground?

and chuck and crocop fight similarly meaning they always defending the take down and rely on strikes purely... so i guess they dont need bjj?

P.S. ALTHOUGH I RESPECT CHUCK AS A STRIKER HE NEEDS TO STOP CALLING HIMSELF A KICK BOXER... CROCOP, WANDERLEI, ANDERSON SILVA ARE REAL KICK BOXERS (MUAY THAI).. ANNOYING TO ME

Crocop is more of a "kickboxer" than Wanderlei Silva or Anderson Silva who are both train more in traditional thai boxing.

In alot of his older fights he tore people apart with leg kicks, just makes him open to takedowns now so he finishes with hands.

CroCop is a BJJ purple belt, he brought the former BJJ champion Fabricio Werdum into his camp and they have been training together for quite some time now. Chuck on the other hand is a former div 1 wrestler, and that is actually the reason he has such great takedown defense. So, BJJ for Mirko, wrestling for Chuck.

All professional MMA fighters train BJJ, among other ground fighting techniques, though they "mix" techniques while training.

It would be a huge disadvantage not to train the ground game.

exactly, he just uses his wrestling ability to get back up instead of taking people down.

If Chuck and CroCop were not any in wrestling or BBJ then they would just end up like Kit Cope.

And Chuck is a kickboxer, has some nice kicks but if he uses them he is a lot easier to taken down.

I'd be surprised if Chuck didn't train BJJ defence techniques. Everyone these days has to be able to defend against it

Bingo.. most strikers today only train in BJJ and grappling to learn how to defend against it, not to actually use it offensively.
