UFC doesn't like Jason MacDonald

The UFC are trying to get this guy killed. First they give him the typical newcomer introduction, by passing him off as a can even though he has beaten a big name like Joe Doerksen. They try and prepare him as Herman food, but he goes out and puts on a clinic. Then they think "Hey this guy just killed one of those guys that TUF Fans think is a god, and seeing as how it's TUF Fans who make up alot of the UFN viewers, let's not try and build on this guy, lets make him Leben food!". So then he goes out and subs Leben's ass. A lot of fans should be, and are, impressed at this point but no, instead going for the typical two fight now we hype you as a submission god , they are going to make a Rich Franklin tune up.

The thread title is not a literal sense(so relax), but come on, people critisize PRIDE for treating their fighters bad. That's as bad as it gets.

I wouldn't say they are treating him bad.

Ed Herman, despite what many people think, is not that good, of course they wanted him to fight some no name so he could get a win, unfortunately for the UFC MacDonald is "no stepping stone" as he well put it. So MacDonald beat Ed Herman and got a push because of Hermans name.

Then they gave him someone with more skills, Leben, not much more skills, but a bigger name. So now that he's defeated Leben, now he's going up against the big boys, because lets face it, Leben/Herman get around for their name only. And if he defeats Franklin he's basically golden for a title shot.

So I wouldn't say they are treating him bad. How about Marcio Cruz? Dudes first fight he gets a former champ, (at the time) Frank Mir was considered the best HW in the division, then goes up against Monson who would later get a title shot, THEN against another former champ in AA, that's a brutal first 3 fights, especially for a guy with only a BJJ background.

I think giving him a shot against Franklin is what h would want, granted they tried to pass him off as a can but when he ploughed through leben and herman they must have been likie hell lets give this guy a shot at the big guns. I think now they are treating him with respect

I love the fact that the UFC (and most of their dumb-ass fans) keep underestimating him. I hope he keeps proving them wrong, I would love nothing more than to see him beat Rich Franklin who I think is an overrated tool.

I agree with the Pe De Pano reference, but you know as well as I do, that if Jason Macdonald was on the TUF show, he would be getting about three tune ups before a fight with Rich.

I would say the same, granted they hype him. However the way the UFC is conducting this, it makes it seem as though they want him to lose.

Look at GSP, he just lost that fight with Hughes, and he was winning that round. Then they make GSP fight 4 more fights before he get a chance at hughes again. With facing Trigg, Shrek, Penn and then hughes.......

look at thoes names!!! what?!?! although he did kill them all but thats not the point, the ufc does that with everyone, when you lose you goto the bottom and work your way up. Pride just does it better than anyone else because it makes you a better fighter if you have to work your way up and work for the belt.

But this is the real kicker, Tito fights the likes of Shamrock, Griffen and Belfort, and cote before he fights Chuck........ why didn't Tito have to fight Jardine, Babalu, and Horn??

why did he get easy fights to become the "number 1 contender" when fights actual fighters who aren't going in to retirement.

There is no madness to the ufc they just pick fights that they think would make them money as apposed to making the a real number 1 contender.

For most of you, ignorance is bliss, but for me it's about the truth.

Right on...Tito did not deserve a title shot and, in spite of what his fans say, his performance made that crystal clear. I honestly believe Chuck could have finished it in the first round but made the decision to give the PPV audience a show. You could see it on Chucks face, no fear, no challenge...no respect.

I don't know if McDonald deserves a fight with a guy like Rich Franklin but I think he has a better shot than Tito had against Chuck.

Are you serously saying that Chuck pulled back or held back to prolong the fight for the sake of it being a PPV?
