Dana White: "Strikeforce Is A Lower Level Show"
http://www.heavy.com/post/dana-white...-and-more-3489
On Strikeforce as competition for the UFC
Dana White: "Yeah, I worry about Strikeforce all the time. Come on. Do you know how long I've been hearing about this? First it was Affliction and then it's somebody else. No, I don't worry about Strikeforce. Strikeforce is a lower-level show where guys who aren't in the UFC can go and make some money. It's never going to be anything more than that, ever."

I believe that too at this point. Strikeforce is lower level they are also very newer though. And most fighters besides gegard and fedor I think would choose ufc first before going to strikeforce. Strikeforce mostly picks up guys the ufc cuts or doesnt want. While ufc can pick and choose who fights for them. Excluding fedor and mousasi because of m-1

At the moment its true and I think their last show was not that good, aside from the Diaz fight.

I actually disagree, because at the end of the day its UFC's choice to take them or not. Because if the UFC wanted to (although they never will) they can chose to meet the demands of the crazy russians. If they did Fedor would no doubt leave SF for the UFC.

That's just a move any mildly intelligent business man would make. It happens in boxing, it happens in ... almost every sport or event that's meant to entertain any form of the same audience. Entertainment wrestling did it. If the UFC didn't counter-program Strikeforce, from a purely business oriented standpoint, I'd say there's a problem.

its the truth, SF only has a couple of good guys who can be contenders in the UFC, while everyone else would be in the undercard, or have already been dropped by the UFC. at this stage, SF is a lower level show, and the last PPV basically proved it.

didnt see this post earlier, but why wouldnt you counter them? are you in business? a large business that relies on sales to get the most money? its a smart move regardless of how big the UFC is and/or how little SF is.
you would be stupid to hand a company that is trying to compete with you more money by offering nothing to UFC fan base and letting them watch one MMA show on tv.

thats smart business. strikeforces ppv got 500,000 views, ufc replay of 107 or 108 forgot which one it was the same night got 2.2 million, that is 2.2 million that strikeforce could have attracted but didnt.
