Most underrated fighters.

I know a thread like this has been done before but not in a while.

I think some very underrated fighters are:

Nate Marquardt- I think he is top 10 pound for pound. Silva may struggle with him the 2nd time around.

Jon Jones- I think he's already the 3rd best in the division even though he has yet to prove it

Brandon Vera- I though he won that "fight" against Randy and is capable of beating some highly ranked fighters.

Mir- Just a beast, I think he will beat Lesner again the 3rd time around. May even beat Fedor if you ask me as long as he can avoid the big KO punch.

Brett Rogers- I think he did pretty damn well against Fedor

Jardine- He's not consistent but when he's on he can bring it.

What do you guys think?

What exactly did Brett Rogers do against Fedor to the warrant "pretty damn well against" statement?

One punch that opened already cut nose (fedor said he had a cut while he was training for the fight)

few punches while he was ground and pounding fedor.

Other than that fedor controlled whole fight, if you ask a me.

I don't really agree with a lot of the guys on your list. Nte Marquardt is recognized by most as the second best MW on the planet (behind Silva).

Jones has not yet proved himself and he seems to have a strong fan base who thing he is the next big thing. If anything he is overrated at this point.

Brandon Vera, too, was labeled as the next great fighter before he had fought anyone worthwhile (other than a fat, out of shape, demoralized Mir), and when he did fight good competition he lost.

I don't think Mir is overrated. I think people recognize how talented he is, I just thinki they hate him.

Rogers may be underrated.

And Jardine? I don't know. He has been given great fights and he loses them.

I guess it just depends on your definition on 'underrated'.

Many east-european fighters are underrated, probably just not very known.

mirko is underrated by many just because he lost few fights in the ufc at this point of his career. While he has a damn good record.

Not by everybody. I think he might be the best HW though now that he is so determined and is bulking up.

I personally think Big Nog is probably the most overrated fighter in the UFC. I love the guy but I just don't think he has it anymore. Cain is going to beat him imo.

Velasquez would be my choice.

Alves is another one. Lots of people seem to have wrote him off after his loss to GSP.

I think Hughes is underrated now too, he has only lost to GSP and Alves yet most say he is past his prime.
