ITT: TraMaI eats crow (Spoilers!)

Okay, so I've been pretty vocal on the massive thrashing Chael was in for tonight and how I think Chael is B level at best. Well, I was totally wrong and I COMPLETELY underestimated Chael. God damn am I impressed with this guy. My hat is off to him in the biggest of ways. Let's see if he can pull off the same level of fighting against Silva.

Same here. I was pretty impressed by Chael in the Okami fight but I honestly saw him losing this fight tonight or eeking out a close decision but he really put it to Nate tonight. He may have the best chance of any upcoming contenders of taking out Anderson. I'm just trying to imagine Anderson avoiding those takedowns for the whole fight, because I feel like if he gets taken down, he's probably staying there until the end of the round.

Haha respect TraMai for making the thread I too didn't believe Chael would take this one - but damn after seeing the control he had over Nate, he may very well be a royal pain for Anderson. Can't wait to see it! (hurry up Belfort)

Thanks to limba for this AWESOME sig

I'm with you on that. I'm eating major crow for this fight...only reason being I completely undersestimated Chael Sonnen's wrestling ability. I still think he's a B level fighter. He's just really, really good at one aspect of fighting and he can't finish with it.

It really sucks. This is the exact fighter that can take the title from Anderson. No, Vitor isn't it, sorry. Thank GOD Anderson/Sonnen would be a 5 round fight because truthfully in a 3 round fight, I'd really like Sonnen's chances. Thankfully it's championship calibure and thankfully, I don't believe Sonnen is. He'll either get knocked out by Silva or subbed from the top. Marquardt's guard is shit, Anderson's is not.

Ugh, I really hate this, I really do. Sonnen is a piece of shit and he's part of the biggest piece of shit camp in MMA.

You're just a cook...

He got busted up pretty bad. I don't see him doing anything against the likes of Belfort or Silva. I do give him props for hanging in there, especially with how battered he looked backstage. I think that he fought his best and that Marquardt just wasn't 100 percent there tonight.

Silva has WAY better subs than Nate and that's Sonnen's glaring weak point. I think Silva will wreck him, but God only knows if he displays that sort of wrestling against him.

I got a piece of that crow too. Damn, for all the crap he took for his "crazy talk" Chael certainly backed it up in a big way. I really didn't expect to see it go like that, Nate was simply man handled. I especially liked Chael during the in-ring post fight interview, all class IMO.

I'll definitely take a serving of that crow as well. Still think Silva or anyone with any kind of offensive guard can beat him though. He was leaving his arm exposed all night. I see Silva either knocking him out standing or pulling of a triangle from the bottom.

I just cant believe how BIG Sonnen seemed. The dude somehow dwarfed Nate and i just couldnt get over it. All in all I still feel Nate is the better fighter as shown at any time he was able to mount anykind of offense he immediately hurt Chael.

Just sucks that he was so bad off his back. I really thought Nate would be able to stuff the TD's. Ohwell dudes at the best camp in the world imo and all he's gotta do is work on his gaurd.

Nate will be back it just sucks that he's probably not gonna get a shot at Silva because of this loss. Silva Sonnen does seem interesting now though. Silva's subs arent on the level of Maia or Paulo so he could grind out a decision. Dude is damn boring to watch though, he out Guidad, Guida.

Congrats to Chael though the dude is tough and took the win the best way he could.
