Yeah I've heard this aswell. And no his standup isn't up to scratch yet, but then again when you compare it to Anderson's, who's is? Sonnen v Silva is a fight some of us want to see because of the lack of depth in the MW division, he's contender #2.

Thanks to limba for this AWESOME sig

yeah its like a bigger gsp vs anderson. sonnen's wrestling is better then gsp's however his gnp is not, something he shud consider working on.

I don't see how there's ever going to be a GSP/A. Silva fight with GSP supposedly staying at 170.

Not sure that I agree with this... Vitor is one hell of a test but I think Henderson was his biggest test until Hendo was like "HERE TAKE MY NECK LOLZ."

Do you have a source on that?? Or do you know it 100% because I was pretty sure as well.

Really don't you think GSP will be fighting at MW for the rest of his career?? I think he will! And after Silva signed for a new fight contract, I am pretty sure that this fight will happen in the future. It just has to be GSP's goal to fight somebody like Silva, if he wants to be the best of the best, wich definitely should be his purpose because he has the chance of doing it.

Wich not many fighters have!

Anderson postponed this fight 3 times. He has done that before as well, just not this many times. And Vitor won't even be top 3? How do you figure? I would rank Marquardt, Vitor, and Hendo as the top 3 guys he has faced. You think the others rank above Vitor? LMFAO.
Stylistically, Vitor is a great match for Silva. Sorry, but speed and power in your punches is the last strength you want going into a fight with Anderson. And not to mention mentally weak.

From a styles stand-point, Henderson, Marquardt, Griffin, Lutter, and Leites were all more dangerous then Vitor is. Why? Because they had a better chance at submitting Anderson or laying on him for a decision then Vitor would. That's why. Not because some are better fighters then Vitor..just style.

And he's delayed it in the past because of injuries. Dude, the last person Anderson would "duck" is a primary striker. And like I said, the fight is ink now. It's not like if Anderson purposely delayed the fight, then the fight would never happen. Sorry dude, but Vitor is the best possible match-up for Silva. As long as Anderson can withstand the first...hm, 45 seconds, he'll break down the fragile mind of Vitor.

And what's funny, people label me as "Silva nuthugger." Interesting theory, considering I'm 10-0 when predicting Silva fights in the UFC. What are you? If one were to say something so stupid as to Anderson Silva is "scared" to fight, my guess is your percentage isn't something to write home about. Sorry folks, it's not nuthuggery, it's being a realist. No one in the UFC middleweight division is in Anderson's class, plain and simple.

You're just a cook...

Do you think possibly, the UFC conspired with Anderson to stay out a little longer to maybe make time for GSP to move up to Middleweight, OR for Shogun to possibly beat Lyoto and set up a huge fight at 205? I don't put much into it, and I know the injury was legit, but as tme passes, I'm slowly thinking that a superfight s inevitable before Anderson retires.
I don't want to see anything but, Anderson/Shogun if both guys win there next fights which aren;t guarantees. Shogun neutralized Machida but, they both fought like a sparing match, technical but, nobody went for it like Forrest goes for the fight. Vitor has insane striking, power, chin, and wrestling. Anderson is at age 35/36, the age where most top fighters like Jones Jr. fall off (note Jones stopped twice at this age). If Anderson's reflexes slow even the slightest, we can see the upset. Personally, Vitor is a legit challenge. Anderson should win. I am just playing devils advocate. I hope he beats Vitor though, I am a Vitor fan. I just want to see him fight Shogun. I think Machida may win the rematch to prevent this from happening. I am Canadian and a huge fan of St. Pierre but, I don't want to see him get KTFO. He got KTFO by Sera, technically a sub loss as he tapped but, Sera fought his career at LW, is practically a midgit in comparison height wise (no disrespect) whereas, Anderson has the weight, strength, insane reach advantage, awesome chin, BJJ, etc. GSP has been scared to stand since this fight. Yes, bits and pieces but, realistically, he has did a ton of dry humping/lay & prey then finishing fights. Not finishing BJ is an example (TKO on a chair not an actuall beat down or KO). Decisioned Fitch, Alves, Kos. I mean, Anderson doesn't need a big shot as portrayed against Forrest. I would bank on Anderson against anyone including Fedor. I do believe Shogun has a good enough chin to bang with Silva despite the stand up disadvantage as he is unorthodox in striking and his BJJ is prob the best in the division if not second to Lil Nog.

You made some excellent points man. I'll go a step further and say that nobody on the planet is in Silva league besides a few exceptions. I belive both Shogun & Machida could very well beat him. I wouldn;t bet on it though. I think Shogun has the best BJJ at LHW besides maybe Lil Nog. Shogun's striking isn't as good as Anderson but, he can very well be unorthodox to make up for the lack there of as well, amazing TDs. I think if anyone subs Anderson, I would be willing to banj on Shogun. I think SHogun can either control Anderson for a decision if not sub him. I would bet on Anderson though. I think SHogun is back in top form. I look forward to their next fights. I do feel something will happen to affect this fight. Either Anderson or SHogun losing unfortunately.

Well the dream situation is that GSP moves up to fight Anderson. Anderson wins, then leaves MW to move up to fight Shogun. Meanwhile GSP claims the vacant MW title, BJ moves up to WW to claim that belt and Kenny claims the vacant LW title. Dream situation.

Then GSP and Silva fight back at MW and either GSP smashes Silva or he loses and then goes back to WW and makes Penn quit again!

THEN... pissed after losing to GSP, BJ moves back to LW to find that Ben Henderson, Jamie Varner, Donald Cerrone and Urijah Faber have all moved to LW, and he smashes them ALL!
