Thanks Xeb, I hadn't seen this quote before, priceless!

Quote:
Ben Fowlkes - Rua ("They say you have to clearly beat the champion if you want to take his belt. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua seemed to have done just that at UFC 104 on Saturday night, but the mere fact that UFC light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida was still conscious at the end was apparently enough for the judges to give him the victory")

"When I land that left hook, the fight will be over." -Paul Daley (He called it!)

They look more like Judo throws actually.. but I never heard that Lyoto trained Judo before. But they could also be from his own Karate Background wich is combined with many other MMA aspect like throws.

But he trained in so many different diciplines over the years, it's probably a little bit from every Martial Art he internalized.

I thought they did also, but I don't have enough knowledge to back that up.

I do know that every time I see one, it makes me feel all happy inside.

Almost as happy as Lyoto using BJ's head as a means of initiating the takedown, LMAOOOOOOO! If a round headed kid ever shows up in judo, I'm going to be so tempted.

Meaning I haven't trained in judo long enough to recognize a technique the moment I see it, apart from hip throw v. shoulder throw, sweep v. reap for example.

I was actually stepping lightly cause I thought it must have been mentioned before, but yes his throws are Sumo.

C'mon guy you're one of the biggest Machida fans on the board, haha.

When Lyoto won a Sumo tournament. Says he was 8-1.

Yeah lol khov, I know that he trained in sumo for many years and that he also won tournaments. But I didn't know that sumo involves such kind of throws. I maybe only watched 5-10 Sumo fights in my whole life^^ and all I saw was pushing and pushing by 400lbs guys

But if Sumo involves this kind of throws, then they are probably from Sumo. Nic picture by the way^^

but come on I am not just one of the biggest Machida fans here, I am the biggest

ask me any question you want about him I am like his brother already^^
