I think that would be a war and neither guy would be able to put up much of a fight in the next round.

I would take Shogun to win that though.

The Mir of now would kill Shogun IMO.

Especially if he has been working on his takedowns like he said he has been.

And what would Silva do if he got Brock in the clinch? That is like grabbing a bear by the nuts, great you got it now what? Do you actually think Silva is gonna overpower Lesnar and knee him like he did Franklin? I think the 80 pounds of pure muscle may have have an effect on that.

Coleman has only been out of the UFC for a couple weeks and just headlined a PPV. Its a little early to be forgetting him already.

Lesnar, Carwin, or a HIGHLY, HIGHLY, athletic LHW/MW/(MAYBE a WW to that ''highly athletic'' too)

I think a lightweight is far too small to do damage against anyone over 185.

Lesnar, Anderson Silva, Mir, Carwin

I think those 4 guys can beat anyone else in the UFC, Anderson may have to put on 10 pounds to deal with a wrestler like Velasquez.

Lesnar could very well win an open weight tourny easily. The only person I could see giving him a problem is JDS, because he has lighting in his hands.

Out of LHW, really only Machida and Shogun are the ones that have a chance. Shogun is just a great athlete and could avoid the takedown long enough to get a flash KO. Machida could try and be elusive, but eventually Lesnar would still take them down at will and it does help he moves like a MW.

If Silva were to take him on, it would just be an ugly beat down. What is he going to do? Clinch with Lesnar? Come on, Silva may be great, but Lesnar would just manhandle him in the clinch and take him down and pound him out.

Anyone one in WW or LW has no chance, even though BJ would probably jump at the chance to fight Lesnar.

I think the winner would depend a lot on format, if they were fighting more than once a night you have to drop a lot of HW because they just don't have the cardio.

I'd vote Shogun, deadly striking and great cardio. Machida for his speed and ability to not take damage, which would allow him to fight several times without worry of gassing. A.Silva too, insane striking and great ground game, only worry with him is his TD defense isn't out of this world and I wonder if he'd be able to get up and strike if some of the HW's took him down.
Great point man, very true.

And if A.Silva was to get taken down by a Carwin/Lesnar, he ain't getting back up. So honestly, I see either a really strong wrestler with insane cardio - ie Velasquez - winning it, or a great striker with again insane cardio - Shogun - winning it.

But Brock aside Fedor would have to be a huge favorite against any and I mean any non-HW. They just would not be able to hurt him while he would be a threat to physically maul them. Other HWs would give him a fight but like boxing - who would have beaten Tyson in his prime that was not a heavyweight? Who would have even got in the ring with him? IMHO mma has evolved technically to that of other sports where size/weight is the determining factor given that other factors are comparable. If for one fight or for 3 fights in a day it would still be the same for both fighters so I don't see that as changing the variables significantly.

A top heavyweight, definitely. Take the OWGP as ana exmaple. Three out of four semifinalists were heavyweights (Barnett, Nogueira, Filipovic), and the one middleweight (Silva) was added when another heavyweight (Fedor) was injured.

No one else below heavyweight even made it past the opening round.

I could see some current light heavyweights advancing, maybe, but it's hard to imagine them dealing with the beasts at the top of the heavyweight division.
