Fedor better not retire!! he is the only old guard that seems to have evovled. likely because he was years ahead of the division back then. now its alot closer and anybody that thinks otherwise is delusional.

if he retires then if one of these guys is truely better then him, we will never know and Fedor fans will always say he could have beat blah blahblah

lets settle it like true warriors do, in the ring. I think Fedor vs Cain would be the least trash talked fight in HW history.

he MAY still be the best HW. i just want to find out.

Its called evolution ppl. When a sport is young and not many ppl compete in it during the early years you get shitty competition compared to when it is growing and you are getting a much bigger talent pool and much better pure athletes.

Do you think Jim Brown would run all over the NFL now if he were in his prime?? No, he would be an average back at best. It doesnt take away from what he did... BACK THEN.

Well MMA is so new that the evolution is literally just years. In a few years some young bucks will come in and do this all over again. Guys we think are well rounded and good striking now will be overwhelmed. Just like the old guard is overwhelmed now.
Much of the old guard is simply as you stated got OLD.

I dont see them move, punch with the same speed they did years ago
Sport might be changing but the people too, if u compare the speed of Cro Cop now and in Pride you will see what i am talking about

I dont say he was better than Cain, Brock etc.. but i neither say he was weaker.

Ppl just need to understand what prime means.

I think also you got a very good point that competition got a lot tougher, but it doest mean the baddest guy on the planet still isnt a beast.

Unlike Mir, Cain didnt fear Nog on the ground, you could tell, instead of knocking him down and cowering away, waiting for a standup, he easily went by his guard and landed probably 4 of the quickest GnP punches ive seen in along, long time to a legend known for his recovery time.

Mir was scared. Cain was not. Pre fight and during the fight. Frontrunner from the get go.
While it may not have come as quickly as Cain's sloppy KO, Mir's was far more picturesque and KODAK worthy. I have it framed and hanging on my wall, next to a picture of Ali standing over Sonny Liston. But don't you fret. As I said, the day will come. Cain will taste Mir's stand-up, and when he realizes he's no match and goes into take down mode, he'll ultimately taste defeat at the hands of Frank's unlimited and unmatched arsenal of submissions.

And JDS ranked higher than Mir? Is that some sort of sick joke?

and what if Fedor gets beaten, nobody should have a problem with that it's a sport.

I mean Mir etc etc have far worse record then him even with a loss, that wouldnt change anything unless people finely could say that he can be beaten.

edit: also I dont see a problem with people who like fedor and try to defend him when some guy says ridicolous things like he should retire, or that he aint strong anymore.

Fedor fought these guys at a different time, during their PRIME. Most guys in the UFC fight a few times then they are out.. Fighters usually get worse after time, however not all, cro cop is one of those that got worse.

You can't take away Brocks win against Mir (who is a great fighter), just cus he keeps fighting 5-10 years more and ends up looking like a can.. Fighting the best when they are at their best proves that you are the best..

And Fedor has done that, and still is.. You say fighters today are so much stronger, bs, how come Pride guys like Hendo still knock the sh* out of most UFC guys? Fedor btw recently fought a guy as big as Brock called Brett Rogers, with probably a comparable strenght.. And won. Brett is probably a top 3 HW. Most likley he would shake the UFC HW division badly, just as Fedor could..
Bolded for No.

SOME guys fight in the UFC a few times and are out, but there are very few fighters who have less than 20+ bouts that retire. Many UFC fighters, if they aren't cut, stay until they retire, which in many cases is a long time.

Fedor has done that, but in no way, shape or for is he now. If he wanted to fight the best in the world at their best, he would've fought Randy in the UFC 4 years ago when he wanted to and he'd be over in the UFC right now fighting guys like Mir (who is obviously near his peak), Brock, who is only getting better, JDS who is turning into one of hte best strikers the HW division has seen in a LONG time and the like.

Hendo was 3-2 in the UFC. 2 of those wins came by decision, one of those Split that I still think he lost (Franklin, who is far from a new guy he'd be knocking the shit out of). The only person he "Knocked the shit out of" is Bisping who is far from being top of the UFC's class.

Rogers WEIGHS as much as Brock but is nowhere NEAR his size. Rogers is pudgy and tall while Brock is Stocky and built like a brick wall. Brock is almost all muscle. There is no WAY Brett could even hope to compare to him in strength or size. Let alone talent.

Rogers is #3 HW in the world? Seriously? You think he would beat (judging by rankings across many MMA sites) Mir, Cain, JDS, Carwin and Nog? That's a joke. Brett is a brawler with little technical ability outside of his jab and sub defense, there's a reason he's ranked #7 last time I checked, which was BEFORE he fought Fedor. HE would get crushed in the UFC's HW division.
