I agree with the Couture pick 100% the guy never was a top fighter, his entire career has been manufactured and projected under the wing of the UFC, now real MMA artists are starting to emerge more frequently its time for him to go, if they want proof of this give him RAMPAGE then see what happens.

Nogueira, I would not write him off just yet, he is a talented fighter still with some good fights let in him, he could of just faced the next HW champion for all we know right now, in fact both his recent losses to Cain and Mir have been against top 5 world contenders, I would like to see him given the task of keeping the gates for a couple of fights then see if he can start a comeback title run.

Cro Cop looked in good shape in his last fight, was a guy we dont know much about but that does not make him a bad fighter, just means we just cant tell how he would fend against some of the good fighters out there. I would like to see him fit again in a couple months time ready to take on Ben Rothwell in the fight that should of been to see where he stands right now.
I cant agree more. Who has he beaten lately that was a legitimate title contender at LHW? Vera? He's a scrub. Coleman? Forget it. The only reason Randy is still able to compete is because he's an expert in Greco-Roman and the clinch. The problem is is that it dosen't make for a very entertaining fight. He's too slow to slug it out with any of the top strikers at LHW, and I dont see him submitting anybody. All he has going for him is stamina and world class Greco-Roman skills. His dirty boxing isn't too much of a factor because one, he hasn't KO'd anybody with it, and two, he just uses it to get inside so he can clinch, and then waits half a rnd before he can muscle the guy down. BORING...

Randy shouldn't retire. He's old and all but he's still winning so there's really no need, granted his fight against Coleman was an obvious win though. I'll make my decision based on his next fight against a legitimate fighter, no offense to Coleman.

Cro Cop should retire. As much as I don't want to him to, he's just not the same. His fight against Perosh showed me that. Sure he won but he never really came close to stopping it nor did his striking look impressive. The fighter he was facing wasn't even UFC quality and he couldn't even put him away, a cut doesn't count. The man is a legend but he'll eventually just get horribly injured if he keeps fighting.

As for Big Nog, all he needs to do is stop eating punches and learn to block/evade. His defense coach isn't teaching him anything, unless it's to block punches with his face. It's not like he has an iron chin or something, the guy gets rocked in all of his fights. All he needs to do is work on his striking, both offensively and defensively, and he'll be fine. He shouldn't retire yet.

they should all retire when they want to retire, they are grown men and deserve the respect to choose their own destiny.

you cannot take away the past. even losing now doesnt take away what they were.

when you think of Micheal Jordan, do you think of an old, fat, washington wizards guard??

when you think of Ali, do you think of a clumsy old guy getting tooled by Leon Spinks??

The only way any of you have the right to tell a legend to retire is to get in the ring and beat them. Im dead serious. So until then, plz, just apprecaite these guys and let them do whatever the **** they want, they have earned it.

I want to see Cro Cop again before I decide if he should hang them up. I don't think Nogueira should though. I think he still has more to offer the UFC. As for Couture, I would like to see how his career plays out right now at LHW.

They have all had great careers and have been the best, or 2nd best, at some point. They haven't started racking up losses yet but their recent performances demonstrate that they will if they keep fighting.

Please. All of you. Go out on a high note. If you stop now you'll be remembered as legends who were still comptetive when you quit. People will claim that you could have still gotten the title back (they're wrong but at least they can make that claim with a straight face now, they won't be able to a year from now).

The problem all these guys have is their marquee name and reputation means they can't fight anyone but top contenders (rare gifts like Coleman and Perosh aside) but they can't beat any of those top contenders.

Big Nog is the one people are still going to claim is the most relevant but out of the top UFC HW's who the hell is he going to beat? Lesnar, Carwin, Cain, JDS, Mir; I just can't imagine him beating any of those guys. Don't spend the twilight portion of your career as a gatekeeper or even worse, some kind of Shamrock embarassment.

They won't quit, I know that. They never do, not in MMA or any sport. Wayne Gretzky quit while he was still decent. Rocky Marciano. I can't even think of any others. Bobby Orr but he was forced into by injury.

I just don't want to see these guys start racking up losses and it is going to happen if they keep fighting.
I agree with Cro Cop yes, he's been going downhill for a little while now and you can tell there's been no fire burning inside since the GG fight.

But with regards to Big Nog - did you not see his fight with Couture? If not, you're excused. If you did however, is that how a fighter who should be preparing to retire fights? No. And in his most recent fight - you are taking away Velasquez's credibility and skills as a fighter.

In regards to Randy Couture - we hear it all the time, yet he keeps coming back better and stronger. In his last 3 fights - he lost a "fight of the night" to Nogueira, then 3 months later dropped to LHW and beat Vera, and then smashed Coleman. Adding on this is the fact that he is one of the most active fighters on the UFC roster, 3 fights in 6 months.

Randy has no business retiring. He's fully capable of competing at the top levels of the game.

CC just won. We have to wait and see what he does from here. If he get's creamed in the near future, then maybe its time. But I still think he just needs to drop weight classes and he'll be a serious threat.

As for Nog. He's starting to worry me. Maybe he could use a drop in weight class as well..
