WEC 48 - The Greatest WEC Event Ever?

Hey guys,

So I was taking a look at the WEC 48 card and daaaamn, it's about as stacked a card as I have ever seen.

1. Jose Aldo v Urijah Faber
2. Ben Henderson v Donald Cerrone
3. Mike Brown v Manny Gamburyan
4. Jamie Varner v Kamal Shalorus

Eight of the greatest WEC fighters on 1 card? I'm impressed They really chose a great card for their first PPV. I don't know how many PPV buys it will get - but I think it will do reasonably well.

They have to go as big as they can as this card will be their first PPV card.

Yeah exactly, fingers crossed it goes well. I don't think they're offering it on 'Mainevent' in Australia - if they were I would definitely order this one.

it is a sick card but can it get buys without the really big names? I mean Faber is their big name, but is it big enough? Do people really know the Wrecking machine that Aldo is?

How is the advertising for this?

Who's gonna headline their next event after it though???

Probably Torre vs Bowles/Cruz, I'm guessing...

Man TBH I don't wanna see Torres v Bowles again so soon ... I mean I was devastated when I saw Torres get taken out by Bowles, but not yet. I think the outcome of Torres v Bowles II depends heavily on how Torres bounces back after his first loss again Benavidez. Remember, the outcome of Bowles v Cruz doesn't matter for this match - Torres wants him either way.

Freakin love this card. And you didnt even list Njokuani vs Roller and Page vs Banuelos which are amazing fights in their own right!

And the WEC has quite a few other stars which I think could carry WEC 49. I am thinking along the lines of:

Bowles/Cruz vs Torres or Jorgensen - BW Title
Mizugaki vs Yahya
Wineland vs Gomez
Fabiano vs Valencia
Assuncao vs Grispi
Darabedyan/Palaszewski vs Lamas/Casimir

Of course they would need some of the stars from WEC 47 which is why I think they are holding off on announcing 49 until they gauge the health of these guys post-fights.
