What a difference a couple of months makes, i use to think this guys like the Antichrist:)Now mir's being getting the bad press, talk about a role reversal

UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar has finally spoken out on the disgraceful comments made by Frank Mir earlier this week, with the man mountain admitting he doesn’t know what he has to do to shut his bitter rival up.

Speaking via KFAN Sports Radio AM 1130, Lesnar said:

“I feel really good. I'm back to training, I started main camp last week and I feel great. Everything is on track. Starting to build the base up again and get ready to fight hopefully mid-summer. We're thinking about July 3rd Las Vegas right now. Fighting the winner, hopefully the winner, of Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. If one of those guys are unable to fight after that fight. I'll probably fight Cain Velasquez from my understanding. I'd really like to fight Frank Mir again.”

“You know I don't know what he [Frank Mir] thought... he's still trying to pull his foot out of his mouth and when you say something like that and your wife has to go out and apologize for you, you know you pissed somebody off. I think his wife made the apology before he did probably.”

“But you know in this sport of fighting. Fighting has come so far in such a short amount of time. We want to perceive ourselves as athletes and get the respect of the general public. Yeah it was out of line but in the fighters mentally I don't want to go in the Octagon and kill somebody but I do want to do whatever I can to win. And maybe that's what he was saying, I don’t know.”

“But the guy should probably just focus on the task in front of him which is Shane Carwin because if Shane Carwin beats his ass he won't be fighting me.... Hopefully he gets passed Shane Carwin so I can put another beat down on him. For a guy to take an ass whopping like the last I gave him and for him to get up and keep running his mouth. You know I just got to laugh at it.”

“I got to go back to a quote that he said before my second fight. He said if Brock Lesnar beats me, he will become the greatest mixed marital artist ever. And I guess he's eating his words and he doesn't want to say that again, he doesn't want to admit that I am that much better than him. But I am truly hoping that Frank wins this fight so it sets us up for July and maybe the next beat down will ... (laughs) I don't know what I have to do to shut him up.”

The pair hold one win over each other with Mir defeating Lesnar in his octagon debut via first round submission before Lesnar unified the titles on the grandest stage of them all, UFC 100 with a second round stoppage due to strikes. How will a third fight go between the two now that Mir has bulked up and Lensar has suffered from illness?

They are both just putting on a show, no matter what they do or say. I believe they ultimately do dislike each other, but there is a reason their fights get so much press, it's because they sell it.

Brock is 100% right though, Frank should focus on Carwin or he may not get his rubber match at all.

Look at any other video of brock lesnar, when he is infront of the camera, he isnt really disrespectful, he is emotional...but the only time hes really done anything was the stunt at ufc 100.

as much as I would like to see Lesnar beat his face in again, I want mir to get KO'ed by Carwin, just so he looks like a idiot thinking about Lesnar while he has Carwin to worry about.

when Lesnar beats him again, I think Mir just might quit MMA or something.
i think he will climb a clock tower with a rifle and than fire upon everybody while screaming "THERES BROCK"

This is only relevant because of Mir's awesome shit talk :)

Mir says he wants to break Brock's neck, catches the UFC's attention and apologizes, retracts apology, Lesnar responds. This all in a very short period of time.

MMAforum talks about all of it extensively.

Mir wins

heh im a mir fan but,

there's no amount of strength training and wrestling you can do in 1-2 years which will catch you up to the level of Brock Lesnar.

The dude is an athletic Freak, Mir is not. A third fight will end just like the 2nd, only Brock will probably finish mir faster.

It takes decades of wrestling and strength training to reach Brock's levels of being able to control a man on the ground, and take a man down.

Mir will be helpless, again.

Before I was itching to see Mir vs Lesnar III, now I'm starting to lean towards the opinion that I hope Carwin beats Mir or Cain gets the next shot at Brock.

But I just know its going to be Mir vs Brock III and what pisses me off most about this is that it means Brock is still untested in the UFC, I mean sersouly think about all his opponents to date.

Heath Herring > A mid-core fighter who can't finish opponents who is a danger to none of the top HW's, yet beating him earns Brock a title shot wtf?

Randy Couture > An old man who should not even be in the HW division, its questionable if he should still be fighting in the UFC and if he should then its without question he should be at LHW not HW. I'm sorry to all Couture fans out there but any true HW could of easily took that title from Randy and made it there own.

Frank Mir > Just happens to be a good stylistic match up for Brock, all we have see skill wise from Brock is his ability to control people on the ground, the small spells we have seen of his stand up look terrible. So the feed him Frank Mir a ground fighter with a name because he was an ex-champion back in a time when the UFC HW division lacked real competition, They know Brock is bigger and stronger than Mir, has the ability to control a fight on the ground so Mir is a guy who Brock should be able to control and beat, still he needs 2 chances to get it right.

Lesnar's style exposed a weakness in Mir's style, and Mir looks as though he has worked hard since then to fix the problem, which would make round 3 more interesting, but I am sick of the UFC protecting there big names from real talented competition and giving then unearned title shots, First it was Randy now its Brock. Its about time he had to face a real competitor who deserves a title shot, not some guy who shouts the most about how bad he wants to fight Brock.

problem is that the UFC makes promises too early, and if they retract those promises from every fighter, then they will possibly lose those good fighters to strikeforce when they have to sign a new contract. We wouldnt even have this discussion if Brock didnt get that illness that caused him to sit out for a whole year, thats the problem with promises, you cant see what the future holds in terms of health for any of the fighters.

I hope BRock F5's him through the canvass...

Mir hasnt really done anything special since his loss to lesnar. He KO'ed nog, so what cain did it a hell of alot more qickly and effectively

That argument's no good. Mir annihilated Nog and he beat Kongo "a hell of a lot more quickly and effectively" than Cain did. Other than Brock, Mir has been very impressive lately.

...All this does is up the stakes. Good move on Brock's part. Mir's over-confidence is going to get the best of him. I guessing Mir is overlooking Carwin because of his fixation on Lesnar. That would be a monsterous mistake. Carwin can fold his ass up like a lawnchair via Gonzaga style- just- like- that....

Brock's going to be the good guy to a lot of fans who've heard Mir's persistent arrogant bullshit. The casual fans might not because they will probably only remember Lesnar flipping off the crowd, Mir and bud light but this time round I think Brock has got some new fans.

That said, like Brock has stated, Mir needs to worry about that KO machine Carwin before running his mouth. As it goes I think Mir is going to finish Carwin though.

Mir's not losing fans. He's just gaining haters, which are as good as fans. Mir's gaining way more through this back and forth than Brock is.

As for Carwin, people are going to once again downplay Mir's win. Mir has better boxing and is way too dangerous off of his back. Bad matchup for Carwin (who I like), he would have stood a better a chance against JDS or Cain imo.
