Ha. The title threw me for quite a loop. But that was some good grappling to watch. And Machida looked funny as hell with a belly.

As far as grappling goes this was one of the more boring matches I've watched. What tournament was it?

I enjoy watching the big tournaments like ADCC, this match seemed uneventful in comparison to what I usually see at such tournaments.

Funny how Lyoto can out point this guy but almost get subbed by Tito Ortiz

machida obv has some serious ground skills, im trying to find this video i had of him training at AKA prior to his bout with Tito. Only Cain could take him down consistently, everybody else... it was a struggle. Dude is also very capable on the ground, slick sweeps and great hip movement.

as far as Machida being underestimated?? i doubt Shogun would do that. i think Machida might have underestimated Shogun last time but he surely wont this time, definately should help him.

cool video bobby, im not much for bjj knowledge but i enjoy watching the position and control displayed.

The other guy had crazy guard, but made for a boring match with Machidas reluctance to engage and lack of sub attempts. He didn't try anything at all.

Don't think so. I'm watching BJJ and MMA long enough to know what I find exciting and what I find boring. The match was a total stalemate but for one incident. BTW, I like Machida a lot....in MMA.

Don't get too excited about Lyoto's ground. It wasn't that good a BJJ/ground display by Machida imho. What he did show was a size and strength advantage to neutralize Lovato's clearly better technical JJ skills.

Lyoto's ground from back in his early fights gets me excited, Im not concerned with his BJJ in the least bit and of your a fan as you say you wouldnt be either, also you would notice that there are some def skills displayed in that footage....Machida fan or not.....

He was clearly the larger man but he has fought guys smaller and displayed great JJ so it is what it is.....may be old footage but the beauty of that is he has only improved...
