Haha funny...
Anderson Silva left Pride after he got his ass kicked a couple of times. He is now th UFC champion (in the same division). Fighters change, so I would say its not easier in Pride. Kang, Filho, Misaki, Hendo, Gono could all whoop Silva. You can count on that.

Phil Baroni's infamous weightlifting video - Google Video

Awesome vid, didn't know the extent of his dedication to fighting. He is the most all around fighter because he makes sure his body is strong all over. Most fighters don't have the dedication to train the weak points on their bodies. The following are some examples:
- Matt hughes can't strike because his biceps aren't big enough. Ever wonder why he has never KO'ed someone in the UFC, Baroni has.
- Tim Sylvia isn't exciting because he doesn't have abs. Its a proven fact that every motion in the body starts from the core. He needs to stop being a hic and lay off the pabst blue ribbon and keystone light.
-Adrei Arlovski looks like he has a bangin bod but have you ever noticed he doesn't shave his chest and back. In AA vs Sylvia II, he wouldn't have been TKO'ed when Sylvia was laying on his back and striking him in the head if he was slippery like a greased monkey. Phil is 24/7.

Thats not really accurate. He left Pride with a 6-2 record which is pretty good. So I wouldn't say he got his ass kicked. Besides that was years ago. Baroni on the other hand went to Pride not long after his last ight in the UFC.

Pogo

And its safe to say that in Silva's one loss to Chonan, there was nothing he could do to defend that submission, it took everyone by surprise.

Why does the flying heelhook make any difference? Anderson was losing the fight, and he ll admit that himself.

Pogo:
He didnt leave Pride with a 6:2 record, it was 3:2.
He lost his last two fights in Pride.
The last fight was two years ago, which is not exactly eternity.

Ps.

I like Anderson Silva, but to say that Pride competition is easier than UFC at the 185Lbs level is absurd IMHO.

true he may have been loosing but he could have bounced back. Maybe im easily impressed, and maybe im not an experienced fighter but i don't think many people would have been able to defend that. maybe i should just stop making excuses for Silva

The legkick set up the flying heelhook, he was weekened from the strikes, and finished by a submission. This was textbook domination on Chonan's behalf. CHonan has not looked nearly as good since then and Silva has improved dramatically. My point remains: COmpetition in Pride is not easier, Baroni is not considered a top 183 in Pride, and has changed substantially since his Heidi Klum days. He's more focused and yet he is not and probably will never be a contener at that weight in Pride. Silva is a better fighter than Phil, but you can't make assumptions that one organization is better than the other because of a couple of guys. Kang, HEndo, Misaki, GOno, Filho...those are contenders and top tier fighters at tht weight.
