Nogueira lost to an undefeated stud. No shame in that, but I would like to see him fight, maybe, a couple more times before retiring for good. A rematch with Mirko and then someone like Kongo.

It seriously sucks to see Nogueira lose.

I don't like it either, however if the UFC wants to grow, and continue to bring MMA further into the mainstream, they will have to go the entertainment route for awhile.

More free fights couldn't hurt, either.

Nogueira is just seriously faded, thus not able to take punishment like he once could or move as fast as his younger days. But heavyweight isn't a talent rich division in mma (like 155 say) so there's still fights he can win out there. Cain is a legit asskicker as well, and is going to hurt a lot of guys besides Nogueira.

How about taking a year or two off and start anew ? Meaning when he comes back start fighting second tier fighters.

guys are just alot better then his days when most HWs didnt have a working knowledge of BJJ and he could take advantage of that.

his standup is a bit worse but alot of guys are just alot better now.

Prime Nog is still getting dropped by Cain and Mir. I know it hurts to hear but it hurts more to hear the excuses.

Nog is a pioneer.

yea, that one. but if you watched the fight you wouldnt say "stood with fedor for 3 rounds" because they didnt stand for 3 rounds.

either way, yes, that one.

Nog is done. Also don't say "well he beat Randy in the fight before Cain!". Randy is also pretty done and has equally bad striking. I'm almost even willing to sig bet that he loses his next fight without even knowing who his opponent is. I think peoples love for Nog is blinding them from the truth of what he can really do. His striking defense is among the worst in the UFC and he doesn't have the takedowns to use his Jitz. I really think anybody who can defend the takedown and can strike will beat Nog including lhw's and even quite a few middle weights.

It's called a figure of speech my friend. And you just helped prove my point lol.

Funny how you say that Cain would "drop" the same Nog that submitted Hendo, Cro Cop and Coleman (on a 6 fight win streak). To say that Nog is the same now as he was 6 or 7 years ago would be idiotic. We all know you're Cain's biggest fan, but seriously man you need to re-think some of your statements lol. He's only had 8 fights and you're saying he could de-rail a PRIME Nog? Nog got caught and finished, simple as that. It's obvious that he's well past his prime, however, you can't just base a guy's whole career off his last fight. (If you have watched all of Nog's fights, you wouldn't say that)

And you're also basically saying that Mir is KNOWN for his stand-up. Saying that Nog wasn't healthy when he fought Frank wouldn't be an excuse, it'd be a fact. Who else has Mir KO'd? Sims? If you would have said that Frank could have submitted a Prime Nog, I would have taken you more seriously.
