At risk of going there.....

By that logic Shogun is the LHW champion.........

Also, pretty sure people consult the record book. It's all that matters, it went down as a win. If GSP goes down as one of the greatest ever, it will be a win, not a win with an asterisk.

What Nurse/GSP did (or didn't do IMO) was not a huge deal. People are acting like he slathered on heaps of vasaline on himself when in all reality, he had a very, very minute amount on him if any. We're talking remnants of the bits that Nurse put on his face spread all across his back AND rubbed in and then wiped with a towel. That's not enough to cause BJ any sort of trouble like it was claimed. IMO, after the beating BJ took in the first two rounds of that fight (Before alleged "greasing") GSP was clearly going to just wreck him for another 15 minutes.
he did it between every round? where are you getting this they only did it in the last rounds? do we have to bring out the gifs to show you how many times he was greased up during that fight

yeah after getting hammered by gsp all those rounds because he could not work any type of ground game because his legs kept slipping every time he did anything, yeah a mans gunna take a ton of punishment, I would not want my fighter to continue in that fight either

I am a huge fan of GSP's but he needs a 3rd fight to wash away the blemish i see as /is his last fight, him greasing made it a loss in my eyes

(p.s. just cause i know it will get brought up I am also a huge Penn fan.)
Do you honestly think greasing effected the outcome of that fight? You think BJ's rubber guard could have won him that fight? Come on, that was one of the most lopsided fights, BJ wouldn't have won if he had a baseball bat and GSP was blindfolded.

For some reason i have a hard time believing the canadian samurai GSP would ever do something dishonorable like greasing, but at the same time if he did, since it wasnt against the rules at the time, i reaspect fighting with your head as well.

Really though, why would the UFC want to try and shoot BJ down AGAIN by feeding him to GSP, couldnt do it early on, couldnt do it at the primes of their careers, those are two losses. Its not like they have a long standing hatred for each other and bj goes to Joe Silva everyother day saying "I wanna fight GSP again"

special thanks to
Matt Hughes
Rashad Evans
Shane Carwin
Anderson Silva
and of course Gray Maynard

1.)if they did not think it was effecting the fight why did they risk adding more grease between every round? why because it only takes a split second with bj's type of ground game to dramatically change a fight

2.)yeah because Bj is not known for on a level of his own when it comes to BJJ and his ground skills or anything.

it was against the rules, the only rule that changed after the fight was the number of people that can be in the octagon for each fighter so that a fighter cant cheat between every round like GSP did,

and yes you are right he was using his head, if I was facing BJ Penn the man with a ground game and BJJ above and beyond anyone elses I might think of other means too

No offense, MD, but get over it, mate.

Hard to believe someone could still be so butt-hurt over this. Lord, even BJ let it go.
