I heard a rumor that Karo refused to face Hughes and Hughes refused to face St. Pierre in April! We know that Diego is out of the picture because he is going to go up against GSP! With very limited options, the UFC decided to give Matt Hughes a shot at Chris Lylte! Now as you may know, I have some serious misgivings about this match. Mainly because I know Hughes is going to win. This is practically a no-contest. Yeah, its nice to see Matt Hughes fight again, it would also be nice to see him get somewhat of a challenge.

So with that in mind, who would you like to see face Hughes at 68? Personally, I would like to see Nick Diaz get a shot! Yeah, Nick might lose that fight but I think he would be more of a challenge then Chris Lytle!

Agreed with everything you said. I want to know more about this rumor that Karo refused to face Hughes. I don't know much about Karo's personality but he doesn't fight like someone that would refuse a fight with Matt Hughes. I don't want to believe that at all and won't unless someone can confirm it. Hope it ain't true.

I would not mind seeing Hughes vs. Diaz. I can't stand Diaz, so hopefully Hughes would beat him so he could disappear from UFC altogether

Diego Sanchez: if Diego wins maybe people will finally start to give him the credit he deserves and if Hughes wins you know he's well on his way back to the top and did not suffer a set-back.

With Penn dropping out of the weight class to take on Pulver, Diego Sanchez is really the only fighter in the Welterweight division that is ready to make the step upwards to the championship level, and would be the best (and most entertaining) opponent for Hughes.

The real problem for Sanchez, however, is he's not ready to take on Matt Hughes or Georges St. Pierre. Hughes, after a loss to St. Pierre, will be heading back into the Octagon with a full head of steam. And St. Pierre, after crushing Hughes, will have so much confidence behind his strikes Sanchez probably won't have a chance to take him down.
