Well look at younger guys like GSP and Shogun just to name a couple. These guys are young as hell and have a long future. I think MMA will have more talent in 10 years and fighters now will be looked at as old fashioned and people will say they would lose to modern day guys. Except Fedor it could be a long long time before someone better than him shows up.

The evolution of the sport has to stop eventually though and it'll just get set at what itll be forever or at least a long time. Look at boxing it quit evolving. Its not like people say Ali would lose to a modern day boxer because he didnt evolve with the sport.

Good post Bungle.

And asskicker I agree with you as well. I think that mma has more room to evolve than boxing does, if you know what I mean. There's just so many variables to the sport, and so many different techniques you can apply...all they do in boxing is punch, but in mma they punch, kick, elbow, knee, choke, leg lock, arm bar....the list goes on. I think the sport will evolve for much longer than boxing ever could have, or would have. If that makes any sense.

first off dont catergorize me as some new fan that only knows ufc. i dont understand your point anyway. why would you make a comment that there is more to the planet than north america when you already referenced pride. last i checked they are still based in japan. so you are telling me that guys like chuck, wand, gsp, gomi, fedor, the nogs are all watered down? all im saying is the guys they are trying to build as the future just dont seem like they will be on the current top guys level. obviously you are the expert, so where are all the great fighters at then smart guy? id like to know so i can start checking out those events.

p.s. dont call me a dumbass unless you are ready to back it up. it kills me how quick some guys on here are ready to run their mouth, dont get caught up in being a fan so much that you think you can fight.

your point makes sense. and its kind of what i was getting at. i dont see the sport evolving that much more. you cant compare the sport evolving now to 10 years from now the way you look back. some one asked did you think back then anyone would beat royce? but back then no one really knew bjj. its different. i have been a chute boxe fan for along time now. so shogun isnt really new to me. all im saying is when i look at guys from the tuf show, and some of the gys they bring in that are new, they just dont really stand out. so i guess im refering to alot of the guys that have come up in the last couple years. and i specifically said not all the guys suck. there have been some exceptions. i think alot of you read the thread topic and dont even read what it says after that. i thought this was a forum for discussion. i didnt realize that we ran our mouths to each other on here. if my topic really rubbed you the wrong way i train at lloyd irvins school in camp springs maryland. feel free to swing by anytime and shut me up.

IowaMFSFan has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I agree with part of Mr. Bungle Post. Although he's not being very clear with his N. American/UFC/Pride posts.

There are alot of very good fighters who are on the way up who aren't in PRIDE/UFC. I"m assuming thats what he means,of course the N. American part doenst fit very well.

I do consider overall the Champions of PRIDE/UFC to be best. There might be someone better out there, but they haven't proved themselves yet.

I knew what j.farrell was tryin to say the whole time. Mr. Bungle was once again just trying to sound like a know it all and make everyone think he's the smartest person on the forum. I think trying to talk down to people on an mma forum makes him feel better about himself.

Sure there are a few guys in small organizations who have potential to come to Pride or UFC to be great and Im sure of those orgs knew about them theyd sign them. Its not that easy to just go out and find a diamond in the rough. If your so smart why dont you tell us some fighters from small orgs that would beat Pride or UFCs top fighters? You act like UFC only pays guys thatll make them the most money or whose the most exciting. Bullshit, they do get who they think is the best fighter otherwise they wouldnt have guys like Carmelo Marrero or guys like that with really no name and no excitement yet were brought in to be contenders. So yes there are guys in other orgs who could probably compete but theres a reason theyre there and thats because they havent proven themselves and thatll come over time like it does for everyone who is successful. After all everyone fights for a smaller organization at one time they just have to wait for their chance.

i agree with kicker here, there are alot of young guys out there that are really good. Diego, Melvin, Tyson Griffin, GSP, Shogun. It seems to me all teh upcoming talent is grappling based. Im sure there are a few future champs out there right now tearing through the NCAA wrestling ranks as we speak.
