good thing our ancestors did not have that attitude about boxing, considering that wrestling has been around forever and showcased at the first olympics (ever). Imagine if all those wrestling folks never bothered to try and understand or recognize boxing as a formal sport.

ONe thing that really irritated me the more I thought about those HBO Presidents comments about how boxing on HBO attached itself to Ali,Louis,etc.......Wasn't HBO the one who promoted and made Tyson the PPV king? Didnt he turn out to be an embarrassment to the sport?

If the UFC is gonna broadcast an event on HBO, can we still buy an event on a pay-per-view basis? or will we have to buy HBO for the month or however long we have to buy it for?

I think Randy Couture is that guy. Thats just me

Couture could be that guy, but he, nor any other MMA fighters that are well known like Ali or Louis. But what I think it is just a matter of time until MMA has some guys that are known to the majority of people.

That was a quote from the former HBO sports chairman(or whatever). The current head of HBO sports does'nt like MMA either. It is the Top Dog at HBO that is making this happen.

HBO is the best network on TV ever. with or without the UFC. They have the best original shows, play great movies, awousome stand up comedy and they have some sick documanteries ex(The Smashing Machine). They are always a step ahead of the pack. The UFC is icing on the cake, I knew it was just a matter of time. Their Boxinf franchise is losing fans.

I have been an HBO subscriber for 20 years, it still and will always be my favorite channel. So don't talk like HBO is some crusty old network who's target audiance is 60 and up. Shell out the cash and u will understand what I am talking about.

Well there the ones that r airing UFC, so I guess they r for it.

Those that r against it r boxing guys, that work for HBO that r threatened by the UFC. They should be. You guys should be applauding HBO and the UFC not slamming them.

They represent the network, also Robb. I"m happy the UFC has expanded, but in reality I'd just be just as happy having more better events on Spike.

Anyways no biggie. You just gotta understand that if HBO executives bash MMA people will get pissy about it.
