I hope it happens but as long as dana-an american is at the head he will find difficulty getting the ufc into japan. I'm trying to put this as carefully as possible......the Japanese don't think much of foreigners and with dana as the public figure for the ufc it will be hard for them to get the chance to make a name for themselves in japan.
in fact i don't like the ufc going to abu-dabi either- i would have preferred they try and solidify their hold on the Americas first, especially south America-namely Brazil for obvious reasons. If they did that then it might be easier for them to get in if the ufc was considered the worldwide mma entity. the uk and austraila are also good places to get a foothold in.
also the unwillingness to be a bit more open with their fighters also hurts them more internationally when it comes to getting fighters around the world to come in.This is just my opinion of course, i am not a businessman so maybe its a bit more difficult than the way i see it, but hey if Aoki doesn't think it will work than i might have to go with his more relevant perspective.
