Who will be the next to retire?

Of the current vets and champions in the UFC, who do you think will retire next?. I'm leaning towards Matt Hughes. He's had a very long and successful career. If he loses to GSP(which I'm thinking will happen), he will finish out his contract and retire.

What do you think?

I find that very likely...I was honestly surprised he's making a comeback (or, attempting to). He could just call it quits while he's ahead, holding the win mover Royce Gracie and a successful career, but if he gets stomped in TWICE by St. Pierre, which I'm sure would happen, he's goign to be downgrading that career status and closing it off on a bad note.

2. To compete is to live, but in order to fight you must first begin by digging two graves.

3. No good deed shall go unpunished.

I'm thinking Hughes also, but don't forget Tim Sylvia's interview on Inside UFC. In his busted accent he said he plans to retire in 2 or 3 years.

Fav Fighters: Arlovski, Filipovic, Franklin, Hughes, Fedor

Future UFC Heavyweight Championship Bout: Cro Cop vs. Arlovski

Has anyone heard Chuck suggesting that he would retire? I got the impression he still loves fighting and would keep going as long as he can. Doesn't seem like he's slowing down, at least not yet.

The only thing I have heard Chuck say is that he has no plans to retire for a long time. He has stated many times he is having alot of fun, and as long as his health allows he will fight.

IMO it wont be Chuck next.

I honestly believe that when Rampage gets his rematch with Chuck, IF Chuck beats him, the Iceman is going to retire.

That's what I thought. Hehe. Why should he retire when he can keep collecting the big paychecks with no one in sight (except arguably Rampage) to stop him? Not that he does it for the money of course.

Well it doesn't hurt that he gets paid big bucks for something he loves.
