True, I think I use "chin" more as a generic term for KO resistance and recovery.

Saunders has one huge advantage here in the fact that his game plan really doesn`t change. He was preparing for a guy whose game plan was to take him down and he still is facing a guy who is gonna shoot on him. Saunders is a much different fighter than Alves, A no T-rex arms here, Saunders is a big dude with reach, secondly Fitch may have wanted to clinch with Alves but he wants to avoid it here. If this fight was regularly scheduled I would have Fitch taking it every time but due to the short nature and the fact that Fitch`s opponent is a completely different fighter while Saunders is fighting a guy who has the same relative skill set but just more skilled I really think this could go either way and Saunders could steal a huge win due to being in the right place at the right time.

wrestling is a part of the sport of mixed martial arts, Fitch uses his strengths to his advantage if you are not a fan of his "boring" style do not watch his fight...personally i am excited for this fight Fitch has never fought Saunders, and he has already beaten Alves! You may not like him or just consider him boring; however he has beaten everybody with the exception of GSP the UFC has put in front of him! He may even be the reincarnation of Matt Hughes, whom GSP has fought twice (winning once of twice), Jon Fitch is still the toughest oppenent Georges has ever fought!

This is good news, almost takes the sting out of ANOTHER big fight being nixed due to injury, etc. Unfortunately I see Fitch winning this fight 9 time out of 10 but hopefully Saunders can surprise me. And like Toxic said, the short notice of this fight may prove advantageous to Ben.

I think you're half right. Sure, Saunders has MASSIVE reach, but his style isn't all that different from Thiago's (stuff take downs, devastate with MT) in the long run. The only glaring difference is Ben's reach IMO. Ben is still going to want to strike and clinch with Fitch and Fitch is still going to want to take him down. Only difference between this and the fight with Alves/Ellenberger is that Ben's clinch game is better and Jon's wrestling is better.

This fight is so much easier for Fitch than Alves and I thought he'd beat Alves. Swick didn't have much trouble with Saunders and Fitch is considerably better than him. Yeah, Saunders has an advantage standing but considering Fitch has never been finished I don't see that being a fight ending advantage ever. Fitch will take him down and actually finish him in the second or third.

Saying devastate with MT is hardly making them the same though, they are physically very different and the MT is very different. Saunders wants to use his reach or try and clinch, Alves wants to explode in and can't really utilize a jab at all.
