I don't know guys. Randy has the strength to muscle Tim to the ground and do as he wishes there. Don't count him out that fast. Randy has learned enough from getting Chuck'd not to sit there and stand with a striker, do what you're good at. Not to mention he has commentated enough fights lately (Ortiz for one) to see what would happen if he tried to punch with Tim. He'll go for the ground action. Plus he's coming off of the pros vs. joes and submission wrestling tournament, standup hasn't been in Randy's mind as of late.

No doubt Randy will win! Silvia won't know what to do with a real fighter. Randy vs. Cro Cop that will be a good fight.

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned: Now this may have been just me, but...It's quite obvious Joe knew about the fight before talking to Randy on Inside the UFC. When interviewing Chuck, Joe says something like "I mean look at Randy, and how old is he, 44?" To which, I believe trying to move on and not talk much about it and to cover for Joe, Chuck just says "I think your aging him a little" while wishing he could say "Joe, your the host of the show and you just f'ed up, remember your 'not supposed to know he's coming back', shut up and move onto the next subject". Obviously Joe knew ahead of time, but that was just more proof...good ol foot in the mouth for Joe.

The preceding message is simply the opinion of the poster.

Hopefully Tim wins so we can see Crocop beat him up in a title shot somewhere down the road

i have mixed feelings about randy coming back. he is one of my favorite fighters. so as much as i want to see him fight, and as sad as it was when he retired, you dont want to see one of the coolest guys on the planet get beat up. and there is a good chance that will happen. even if he gets past tim, whats next? cro cop? i dont want to see that fight happen. the decision is made though, so all i can do now is support him i guess.

Sylvia is comfortable in there because he's able to dictate the pace of a fight off his long jab and long right hand. He's good at sprawling. However, clinch work is Randy's bread and butter and Randy, being a wrestler, loves to push the pace of a fight...something that should give Sylvia much trouble indeed.

Ya'll slow ya roll on Couture "not having a chance".

Embrace the pain...train hard bro...TRAIN!

J. Farrell hit the nail on the head all us fans can do now is support Randy. Tim outweighs Randy by so much it his hard not to gas out controlling that much extra weight. This is why he dropped down to light-heavyweight anyway, the competition got so much bigger.

Having said that, this is Randy we are talking about this is the guy who spanked Tito "literally" when nobody thought he stood a chance. It would make my year as far as the UFC is concerned to see him control and destroy Tim for about 2 rounds then ground & pound him so hard he taps due to strikes. HA HA HA

Randy will most likely push the pace in that fight, Sylvia's fight against Monson and his 3rd against AA were very boring and timid. Since he's had 2 back to back boring fights a lot of people dont think he deserves his belt but i've seen him put the heat on and he can be devastating. Randy will most likely bring this out of him and it'll be an interesting fight. Considering he's like 6'8" his legs dont look too sturdy when he walks and when he fights, if someone were to kick the crap out of his legs they could pick him off in the later rounds.

Really I think randy got alot out of what ken Shamrock said "win or lose I going out as a warrior" No matter what the odds I will always stand behind and support randy. The greatest guy in and out of the ring in all of not only the ufc but MMA aswell

Randy, while great, just cant handle Sylvia at his age. Everyone is saying he will push the pace but as old as he is and trying to push as much weight as Sylvia is, he will tire out. The only reason he is back is because Dana needed a filler fight while he builds anticipation for Cro Cop taking the title.
