Would Silva vs. Machida be a terrible fight?

Ignoring the fact that they're friends and don't want to fight each other, they both seem to depend on their strong counter fighting game.

Tonight Silva showed an unwillingness to press the fight, at least in the last two rounds. He was constantly baiting Maia to attack him, rather than just bringing the offense himself.

I just can't picture these two fighters putting on a good show against each other.

If u ignore the facts that will make this a bad fight such as freindship etc, this would be a great fight. But to many factors make this fight horrible.

Probably need yellow cards for that fight.

It could go either way, when Anderson is forced to be the aggressor his fights suck, when Machida is on the aggressive I actually think his fights are better. To me I think it depends on who breaks and starts the chase.

Anderson vs Shogun would probably be more entertaining for people.

Either Silva kicks him in the leg 5000 times and wins a decision or Lyoto gets agressive and gets dropped and either GNPed out or subbed. I never understould people thinking Lyoto was a better striker and grappler than Andy before the Shogun fight.

It would be a dance off. Like "Beat It" but not nearly as cool without knives.

I agree.

I have always thought that Silva/Machida would be kind of boring. I just picture them both trying to counter each other the entire time.
