Well if these are the actual rules you could make a case that Silva did kinda violate 2 of them

Quote:
(a) Enters into a contract for a contest or exhibition of unarmed combat in bad faith;
He did enter this fight with just going out there and fighting; however, silva did state that he wanted to "punish" maia for the comments he had made about him. I believe you could consider this bad faith as instead of competing he used all 5 rounds just to inflict damage on his opponent.

Quote:
(e) Is guilty of an act or conduct that is detrimental to a contest or exhibition of unarmed combat, including, but not limited to, any foul or unsportsmanlike conduct in connection with a contest or exhibition of unarmed combat;"
Another case which could be made is that his actions in the octagon were in fact unsportsmanlike due to his constant taunting and even his foul language in Portuguese

Why would the NSAC have anything to do with a fight that didn't take place in Nevada? Hell, it didn't even take place in the U.S.

Got my foil hat on! can't wait to hear more!

I don't doubt that dana's conversation with silva was about the gsp fight which he just blew.

Aren't the refs and judges for events outside of the US provided by the NSAC?

I can see that. The perception of purposely refusing to finish a fight in a blatant manner, when its appears overwhelmingly within your means, could be seen as a means to fix a fight.

I doubt Andy will get banned, but I can the technicalities in the threat.

Rumor, this is the same place that hosts John Ruiz fights, and the likes of Evander Holyfield, who by some miracle is still cleared to fight.

And yet Vegas hosted about every Mayweather or Jones Jr fight ever, both fighters known for carrying fighters despite the opponent being completely overmatched.

Complete BS.

EDIT: How appropriate was the Ali reference on Saturday? Another guy that comes to mind for carrying opponents. Mind you he didn't catch **** for it like Silva does. However, Ali's performances against Terrell and Patterson were very similar, cruel and tactless beatings of fighters who were completely outclassed. Shouting, and taunting throughout, and refusing to finish the battered fighters.

Also, when a boxer coast, no one bats an eyelash, however an MMA striker does it and the world gets flipped on his side and he should be banned from fighting in certain cities.

I'm not even sure why anyone is interested in this damn GSP fight anyway. Silva is too big and skilled for GSP and fighting him will be a huge step down in competition. his future is in the LHW division not WW.

but like I said this "report" isn't true anyway so it doesn't matter...
