Carwin has the interim belt, so no one is ahead of him until they take that and if Lesnar can't fight Carwin, Cain is going to get the next shot. So it doesn't really matter if you think JDS is better, he's third, I'm sorry.

We'll see in the future I'm sure, just how much the IWMMAR values the interim belt. If you're going by champion then wouldn't Overeem be ranked higher? Resume or not, he's the champion of the second biggest MMA organization.

To clarify I'm talking top 10 HW rankings, not who's in line for title contendership. The two aren't always (or even usually) correlated as we saw with Hardy/Edgar/Maia.

Yeah, I was talking in order of title shots, not rankings.

You could look at things another way though Khov. Sure, JDS is probably the most deserving contender due to his resume, but being behind Carwin and Velasquez in the pecking order could actually be a blessing in disguise. He gets the oppurtunity to get another couple of fights in, gets to continue training at Black House, improving even more so that by the time he gets a title shot he'll be an even more complete fighter, with an even more well-rounded skill set. I actually think it's good that he's being built up slowly, allows him to just keep improving so that when he finally gets a shot, he is ready, and can take that belt; as that's what I see him doing. Give it 18 months and Junior Dos Santos will be the UFC HW Champion.
