No, Frank should fight JDS to decide who's next in line after Carwin and Cain.

A fight with GG does nothing to actually sort out the division. A fight with JDS gives you a pretty solid one through three.

I'm just bummed out that Gonzaga didn't live up to his hype after the Mirko fight. I mean I wanted Couture to win but I still liked Gonzaga and the fans always cheered for him.

Gonzaga vs Mir would be a good fight but is Gonzaga's image of a top fighter gone?

At least Mir vs Dos Santos is a good draw for fan interest.

Gonzaga is still very good. No shame in losing to JDS.

Long gone, I don't know why he's got this rep as being an amazing JJ guy, he have never really subbed anyone at a top level in the UFC. Yeah he won some tournements, but you're not getting punched in the face in those tourneys.

I don't know that he ever was a top level fighter, yeah he beat CC, but look what's happened to Cro Cop now? He hasn't really beaten anyone else that is a top 5 guy. He's a very good gate keeper, that's all.

Agreed. When he was first coming up in the UFC I thought he had the potential to be one of the best HWs in the world. He had the size, decent wrestling, great jitz and solid striking. But he hasn't lived up to it. I think he is slow and predictable.

I'd rather see Mir face someone else. GG has won 3 of his last 7 fights. Mir is sitll a perrenial contender. Mir should face JDS or Big Country or a similar fight that is more meaningful than a squab with GG.

A fight with big country would be sick, a rematch of that epic grappling match they had back in the day. That would be some insane ground fighting.

Both Gonzaga and Kongo have made their careers in MMA off that one freaking Mirko win, that's their claim to fame. Gonzaga has a good grappling backround but he hasn't successfully implemented his grappling into MMA, the main reason for that being imo since the Mirko fight he thinks he's a striker when his striking is pretty awful. He's without a doubt the slowest striker I've ever seen and he telegraphs everything. The kick he threw that JDS countered to drop him is the perfect example of what I'm talking about with GG's striking. He needs to work on wrestling and cardio and he could still be dangerous, basically he needs a new training camp. As far as a Frank Mir fight, Mir would KO him standing.

Put me in the Mir vs Dos Santos camp.

It is another big step up for Dos Santos and a decent fight for Mir. It also gives Dos Santos a chance to revenge Nogs loss.

I think JDS would tool Mir, Frank has too much confidence in his striking now and standing with JDS is like saying "I would like to have a nap in front of all these people"
