Will the UFC make Cro Cop "The New Fedor"?

what i mean is, will they bill CC as "the greatest fighter around" and completely ignore Fedor? I'm sure they will since Dana likes to ignore the second half of the sport at every oppourtunity.

Of course he will, I would ignore Fedor as well. Dana is a fight promoter. Most people that watch the UFC do not even know who Fedor is. It is about selling tickets and making money, not about honesty.

I am sure that Cro Cop will come over here and take the title, then go back to fighting with Fedor. Fedor is his only real competion. It does not mean much to real MMA Fans that Mirko will come over here and win. If he beats Fedor then he will have proved something.

^i second that, There's no one in the ufc that can beat Cro cop and his left high-kick.

don't forget even though the fighters are paid more, it's level of fighting (when it comes to Light-heavy and heavyweight) is below that of PRIDE (chuck liddell had trouble with alistair overeem, who is not that good).

Also Cro cop barely plays soccer with the opponent (unlike say Silva)

It defintely seems like they would.
Once C.C gets the belt, his fights are going to be few & far between & he'll probably dominate most of them.

The new Fedor? The UFC refuses to acknowledge PRIDE in any form of broadcasting. They aren't billing CroCop as the greatest ever because they haven't shown any of his highlight reels yet. They want the fans to start this one for themselvse, and that is fine. It's the same thing that Fedor did in PRIDE. He proved he was the best.

To a certain extend, CroCop is the UFC's Fedor, because he's on an entirely different tier than every other fighter in the entire organization. I think that Fedor has tougher competition than CroCop, but both are clearly going to be the dominant heavyweights in the world for a while.

No matter how many people cro cop beats in the UFC until he beats fedor and gets his revenge he will never be the new fedor. Real MMA fans who watch all venues will know this. But the average UFC fan will think he is the greatest ever.

notice how they announce a title fight.

"this bout is for the light heavyweight championship OF THE WORLD"

So yes, CC will be the "most dominant heavyweight fighter in the world" (if he does kill every1)

Hopefully they'll do everything they can to overwrite Fedor's status to the point where he'll just have to come over to UFC to reclaim his throne.
