Has to be a trolling thread.

Randleman has achieved can status.

Please tell me this is a troll post because Roger submitted Ronaldo Souza,Fabricio Werdum,Alexandre Ferreira ,Shinya Aoki... if he works on his stand up Jon Jones wont even come close to his skill. You think Matt Hamill or Vera have Gracie level Jiu-Jitsu.

The only MMA record I can find for Roger Gracie has him with three victories over: Randleman, Yuki Kondo, and Ron Waterman...

Grappling credentials are nice, but don't always translate to success in the cage.

Although in this hypothetical match, if Jones' ego led to him tossing Gracie and then jumping into his guard, then yeah, he'd probably get sub'd because he's already shown he'll expose his limbs; he just hasn't gotten caught yet.

I'm sure if we had a straight up grappling match, damien maia would submit anderson silva. However, this is mma... the rest is history.

At this point, I'm inclined to agree with leifdawg that this is a ridiculous question to ask. Although Roger has talent, he is easily 2-3 fights away from even being mentioned in the same tier as jones.

Well just because he didn't win in the cage doesn't mean that submitting the best fighters in the world are just grappling credentials.Like i said before if Roger gets his stand up game going it will be a difficult task for Bones, the difference is Bones will never be on the same level of Jiu-Jitsu as Roger but Roger can easily get his Muay Thai or Boxing going.

Roger looked pathetic on his feet. I see Jones taking this easily.

Grappling in tournaments is not the samething as grappling in MMA. He couldn't even sub Randleman who is known as having suspect defense. And while Roger has better submissions, Jones is no slouch when it comes to grappling. Jones is the quicker, more explosive striker and his vastly superior wrestling will allow him to keep the fight where he wants it.

Come back in a year or two and we'll talk.
