Well mixing familly with business has always had problems.. from where i come from that is..

And it probably is nice to have your bro as coach.. but maybe you need a complete stranger who is objective to tell you how he sees it and doesnt care if you dont feel like training harder..

Here is a conspiracy theory for ya, maybe this is all a big ruse to try and hype a fight between the two for money.

Seems to me that Dan just does not want to tottaly commit himself. Would you coach some one who did not want to give 100%? I know I would not.

It might be due to reading Joe's statement after Dan's but I have to give the nod to him in this case. An ultimatum isn't an ultimatum unless you have the b*lls to stick to it. It sucks for him but if you make a committment you have to stick to it.

Joe isnt blowing him off as a brother, hes doing it as his trainer. As a part of dans coaching staff hes doing the right thing.

If it's true what Joe is saying, he has every right to tell his brother he will no longer have him at his gym, as that's just an impossible situation.

But I would not turn my back on him before a fight. Joe should continue the camp, corner him and then tell him to find a new camp, if he feels that strongly. Turning his back on his borther this close to a fight seems strange, I couldn't do that.

Anyway, in all seriousness - I don't like what Dan's coaches and his own brother have done, they've abandoned him in the last few weeks leading up to his fight. Personally, they should've gone with him and cornered him and THEN dropped him if he wasn't going to pull his weight, however to leave him this close to his fight is a really dog thing to do.

I'm quite dissappointed in Joe, because as a brother I don't think you should forget and abandon your brother at a very critical point in his life (i.e. a few weeks out from one of the biggest events of his life), however yes I do believe Dan's taking his UFC career for granted, by the sound of things.

Thanks to limba for this AWESOME sig

It is not about "being the shit", its about giving all you've got. Obviously his brother his mad that he isnt giving it all he's got, hes slacking off and you shouldnt take things for granted, especially being in the UFC.

As soon as he gets cut and ends up in a lower organization, maybe even lower then SF, I guarantee you he will be biting himself in the ass.
