MMA joining Boxing at Showtime February 10

Gary Shaw, long time boxing promotor, is crossing over to my second beloved sport of MMA, from my first which is boxing.

He hit the nail on the head stating that ALL the champions of each organization are the champion of THAT organization until they prove themselves of the "world champion" moniker by fighting the champion of the other companies. He's also going to allow Elite Extreme Combat fighters to fight in other organizations like Pride or the UFC. So we don't have MMA going the way of boxing with top fighters talking and ducking.

For any who are interested, give it a read. Here's the link.

Talking MMA and Boxing with <br> GARY SHAW | Jonathan Brown

From the looks of things he's got a pretty entertaining card he's lining up. The headline is Frank Shamrock against Renzo Gracie with fighters like Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett on the undercard.

I'm pumped. It's MORE than just the's the event itself being on cable TV! Anyways, happy reading to all.

Embrace the pain...train hard bro...TRAIN!

i like that mma is branching out to many organizations and being aired on cable tv but!!!!.....they're only televising one fight...all the under card fights can only be seen via internet, streaming. wassup with that? still going to watch them but why are they being so cheap?

How can I be scared of a man that breathes the same air as me?

I'm going to see it. I just connected with Dish Network so I get Free Showtime for a month. I'll be rooting for Renzo.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

MMA should stay as far away from boxing as possible.

It's corrupting itself just fine without any help.

if you actually read the article the guy has some great points. For one he is a "promoter" doesn't matter if its boxing, mma, or a rock concert also he has a great point about .. .

their needs to be unified titles "world champions" not UFC or PRide champs, and I think it is true that is what fighetes will want and they will want to be able to fight other places to gett their name out there.

5 years from now you watch how all fighters will get individual agents or promotoers for their fights
