Happy Dana. Ive only just seen the whole event myself and I am feeling really good! Wow. Strip away all the hype and names and whats left was 5 brilliant fights. Wow. Did I say that already? wow.

Man, MMA can make your whole day rock when it does its thing right!... I love it. I love you guys. * group hug *

I had the event recorded on my PVR, and *tried* to watch all 5 fights back to back without any of the hype and Goldification. I actually had to stop after Leben vs Sex and take a break... it got too much for me. Goes to show you, as much as I hate the hype between the bouts, they do serve a purpose! Trying to watch all 5 fights without a break between them actually crumbled me!... no wonder Carwin gassed. Can any of us imagine how he must have felt coming out to that energy? Brock is completely used to that shit.

UFC116 was something special for me. I wont forget it easily.

Errr...no.

The other 4 fights were delicious. I in no way want it misread that my gushing love is mainly directed at the title fight. This couldn't be further from the truth.

I also want to make it clear that I know the fights we're technically... shall we say... a bit shit. But emotionally? That was something special.

This was an amazing event. It will always be remembered. If all the fighters were not afraid to take a gamble and leave everything in the octagon like last night all the events would be this amazing.

Aren't you familiar with the story involving a guy who catches a magic gold fish and the gold fish tells him, he will grant him 3 wishes if the guy let's him go!??!

Is this story just in the romanian culture?!?
I thaught it's universal.

That's why i was saying Dana caught the gold fish and released it and now he has 3 wishes:
1. Fedor losing to Werdum
2. UFC 116 turning out the way it did
3. ..........Sonnen outstriking Silva, KO'ing him in the first round and becoming the new MW champ!?!?:sarcastic12:

Who knows?!!!:)

It was so awesome, I had a big cheesy smile all the way through. I even gave standing ovations on a couple of occasions (and I was watching alone, lol).

I loved these bits.

Sometimes it's the meat and potatoes guys and not the elite fighters, who put on the best fights and remind you of what MMA is really about.

39 going on 12

Has anyone mentioned what a great Joe Silva did in putting that show together? And LeBen sure came through for him.
Indeed. I wondered whether Leben heard of Silva dropping out and asked for the fight, or whether the Joe/Dana approached him. I would love to know which. I have a suspicion Leben gave them a call first... the lunatic.

Nah, think Dana mentioned in the pre-fight conference that it was the UFC that called Leben, and they were just hoping he'd not had enough time to get into any trouble.

Yeah, loved the card. It ended up being alot better then I thought it would be and that is saying alot seeing as I had high expectations for this card.

This really was an amazing card. I came into it expecting to yawn through the four fights leading up to Brock/Carwin and then seeing a predictable Carwin KO or Lesnar LnP. Man was i wrong, every fight on the card was exciting to watch, including the Spike prelims. Even a fight like Bonnar/Krystov which has no real relevance in the LHW division was still a very exciting brawl to watch.
The Brock fight was just absolutely insane and unpredictable, overall great card. I hope 117 and 118 turn out to be equally impressive, they sure have the names to pull it off.
