Why Not MORE UFC?

Now I can understand why they only have UFC[xx]'s once a month or so, but why don't they hold more fight nights and what not? Am I missing something? It's not as if there are a lack of competitors. Hell, they should have them weekly, I would watch it every night if it were on. I wouldn't think it'd be for lack of money, since I'm assuming they make money when they have Ultimate fight nights. Or am I wrong? What the problem?

More fighting dammit!

They don't have enough fighters to put up a good fights more than they do. Guys need breaks to recover and prepare for the next fight. Plus you need a lot more undercard fights then something like boxing because the fights are shorter.

Plus, who would shell out $40 a week for a UFC PPV? Not enough money in it for the UFC.

Top fighters dont wanna fight more than 3-4 times a year. But yes I wish there was more fights. It would be cool if they had 2 new young fighters fight every Thursday night to showcase some of the up and comers in the smaller shows. Those guys put in the work and get no exposure. Im sure we would get to see some fights guys that will be great in the future, plus its generally tough to see those shows on TV or the net. It could be the same guys that fight in the WEC but put on a UFC caliber show.

I agree that there should more exposure such as a couple of more UFN per year and the UFC Unleashed show needs to be refreshed, they show the same fights over and over, if they spiced it up a bit they would pick up alot of new casual viewers. Show some of the older fights other than Gracie and show some of the recent fights, this would create more interest all around. IMO

Yeah, they should at least have a Fight Night every 2 weeks or something like that. But I noticed the UFC PPV's have become more regular (like 10 per year compared to like 6 a few years ago)

I definitely agree with that second part. I was just commenting with my buddy how the ppvs have significantly increased in frequency over the past couple of years. 10 ppv shows + 5 UFN s would ber perfect. I still gotta pay for like 6 Prides, so I m looking at like 700 bucks/year (if I were to pay for it all). Its quite a bit of cash for the average dude(tte).

I always go to the bar to see the ppv's, and now that I am back to basic cable, I also go to the bar for ufn. Yeah, UFC has basically turned me into an alcoholic .

But I could still see more of it. More UFN's would be great to help farm some new talent. I know that smaller organizations like IFC and KOTC are good for that, but they don't draw the same amount of viewers or have the production value of a UFC event.

Plus, another good solution would be more pride events on TV, or perhaps I can convince the bartender to order some Pride ppv's, which unfortunatley they would lose tons of money on, because nobody would come to the bar to see it, which is unfortunate but true, and yes I just got back from practice with my band and am shitfaced.

if you had fights every week and all the fighters wanted breaks you would have to keep signing fighters because they would all end up being on break.

Thats why I like when the "Ultimate Fighter" season is running new. A new fight every week and usually decent finale to cap it all off.
