Ed Soares, the manager and translator to many top Brazilian MMA fighters, has revealed that former UFC light heavyweight champion, Lyoto Machida is ready and waiting to return to action inside the octagon and he already has a couple of names he wouldn’t mind facing.

Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Soares said:

“He told me now he feels like a complete fighter. He knows what it’s like to win, he knows what it’s like to be a champion, and now he knows what it’s like to lose. He feels like a complete fighter, and I know without a doubt he’s going to come back a better fighter, and it’s just a matter of time before he has that belt around his waist again. He’s out here training, we’re ready to go right now. He’s ready to fight whoever, he wants to fight the best too.”

When asked about a possible fight with Rich Franklin for “The Dragon”, Soares said:

“That could be a big fight. At the end of the day that’s the first guy who gave Rich Franklin his first loss, maybe Rich Franklin would like to avenge that. That could be a good fight. You know what I think would be interesting is how about a Vitor Belfort? Vitor Belfort/Lyoto Machida? I think Vitor now will get another fight before he fights Anderson Silva. Put it this way, anything can happen, you never know.”

“He’d love to fight Shogun again. It’s 1-1 now, you know what I mean? Let’s fight it again. But he’ll fight whoever. When the UFC is ready, they’ll give us that shot. We’d love to fight him right now, but whoever the UFC gives us is fine.”

Uhh, fight Vitor? Vitor is a middleweight. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense, especially considering Vitor is on his way down in weight and not up.

And as for Franklin, Machida whipped his ass before he grew to become such a powerhourse. That's not a good fight at all: Franklin would get KTFO.

I'm glad to see Machida is coming back mentally strong, but he needs to fight some stiffer competition than two MW's.

Can't wait to see him back, Machida against Rich would make sense, easy win for Machida though.

Again Sores comes out and tried to direct Vitor away from Anderson. A while back he was mentioning how Silva shouldn't fight Belfort but rather be facing one of two guys he had already beaten.

It's not a good fight for Lyoto anyway, Belfort is really fast and if he clips him just once that could be the end of it.

Well if Machida finishes off Vitor which he will if they fought then Anderson wouldn't really have to fight him and can essentially move up to LHW and beatdown Shogun, or even HW and finish what Shane couldn't.

I think Black house is deciding what will be best for their fighters.

I think a Machida V Franklin and Lil Nog V Rampage -- are in fine order to set up the contenders. Setting up a likely Machida V Rampage. Two quality wins = title shot.

Although, if Silva moves up, I would say he deserves the first shot over all (at Rua or Rashad). He'd defend over all IMO, until Jones comes in to the picture perhaps.

My little UFC LHW rankings, belts don't apply.

LHW
#1 Silva
#2 Bones
#3 Rua
#4 Machida
#5 Rashad
#6 Rampage
#7 Franklin
#8 T. Silva
#9 Bader
#10 Lil Nog

....yeah Silva only has two LHW wins and Bones has wins over pretty much nobody in the rankings. Don't know how you'd put them over Rua and Evans.

Everyone keeps mentioning Franklin but we don't yet know how long hes going to be out. He has to let his arm heal, then he has to get back into full training. Hes going to be on the shelf too long for Machida. Lyoto should be in more of a hurry to get back on track. The best option for him right now is Rampage. A fight with Belfort would be retarded.

Calling out Belfort just seems stupid.
Belfort finally found his old form at MW and Soares is talking about Machida fighting him. Ok i agree...but he should tell Machida to be ready to make the cut to 185 then.

Pls let Belfort where he is right now. He feels very good at MW. Let him fight Silva. Let Silva fight a good striker.

Machida can fight Rashad, Rampage, Forrest, Brilz, Diabate, Cane, Hammil, Vera...and so on.

That's a gimme fight for Lyoto if he fights Rich Franklin. Rampage declined cuz he said it would be a boring fight which I agree so he's going against Lil Nog which is gonna be pure fireworks!

I think Blackhouse in general is just calling out Vitor to mess with his head. Although it would be a very intriquing match up.

Who's left in LHW. I would like to see Jon Bone Jones tested against Lyoto.

- Randy Couture
- Rich Franklin
- Cyrile Diabate (This guy is a sleeper.)

i dont see how the champ rua is no.3, and i haven't seen bones vs any of these guys, i'd like a thiago silva vs rampage match, it would be an awesome stand up match
