he had left one fight in his current contract, and ufc does not give title shot in this case.
Vera wanted more money to sign new extended contract with ufc , and ufc did not want to pay that much money.
so he is off the title shot, and maybe they give him a undercard fight to finish his contract or even cancel his contract......

well from what ive heard he is being a jackass and asking for too much money for his next contract, so he might be finding employment with another organization which is a shame cuz I wanted Vera Vs Sylvia!!!

If he was smart, he should bite the bullet on his contract, Get the title shot, beat Sylvia and then defend, then renew.

Vera's young and talented. Right now, he's making sure he gets paid a nice amount, and I can't really blame him for that. He'll be back. I'm sort of surprised to read the "How dare Vera do this!" posts(Not just on here). Finally someone is stickin' it to the man.

It seems that Vera and the UFC are at a stalemate. I guess we just have to wait who'll blink first. I wouldn't go to the conclusion that Vera's being a jerk for asking too much, or that UFC being the same for offering too little....because none of us know any details yet. But Vera personally attending the Elite press conference is a wrong move for him IMO. Also too bad for him, the CroCop acquisition might have decreased his value to the UFC. Hopefully he stays though.

I thought vera already signed with showtime? In that case I hope UFC gives Vera Crocop, otherwise they should give him Heath herring, AA, or Sylvia(Assuming he's already lost the belt). Any of those matchups will be great.

I don't think he signed w/ Showtime/Elite, if he did, then it would be all over the mma websites. Last time I heard (probably less than a week ago), Dana said he would love for Vera to stay in the UFC.

Vera probably would have made more money in the long run in the UFC if he stayed and continued to enjoy success. CroCop and him down the line probably would have made some nice headline events. Maybe he will. Maybe he wont.
