Yes he threw punches as well, but it seemed to me like he never really tried to finish. Even when he passed bonnars guard he seemed to just want to hold bonnar down, which i hate and i think is bs. I dunno maybe it's just a bonnar fan angry that he lost LOL.
Maybe Rashad likes being ontop of other guys...

He's not the most well rounded but he's improving by leaps and bounds.
Does anyone else think his style resembles a young Cotoure with attitude (in his slamms and good hands)?

Never take counsel of your fears.

Well ... this turned out a lot better than I thought it would! Rashad's a little raw but both he and Stephen have a lot more talent and excitement to display in time and I'm hoping nothing happens to cheat us of that.

The comment about Randy is pretty appropo in that he wasn't flashy in the least and displayed none of the diversity or MMA savvy that he showed us later in his championship fights. He just wrestled. He had heart and desire just like these guys. Once they establish themselves as athletes who belong at that level even if they end up leaving the UFC and fighting elsewhere, I believe you'll see the real potential they have. You have to think there's a fair amount of pressure to just win so they're not relegated to returning as a TUF contestant!

You guys have restored my faith in MMA fans ... as opposed to boxing fans.*groan*

I love the art of boxing; it's application for self defense purposes, like to discuss it's history and historic fighters but the sport is just a damn corrupt mess right now. And the nuthugging, partisan boxing fans .... they are retarded.

Not like us. Also, nice to meet ya'll.

Showboating....LOL...Call it what you want...It was effective enough to give him the win and that's all that counts....He made a believer out of Matt Hughes and he will make one out of you as well....No matter if you admit it or not

Rashad Evans is a dominate fighter already...once he learn the ground and pound and submission part of it...NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO BEAT HIM...

I'm so sick of hearing this LAY AND PRAY garbage....Hell all i saw was Bonnar getting his ass slammed at will and once the fight was on the ground Bonnar was holding on for dear life....He had both Rashad's arms and wasn't about to let go, but the few times Rashad was able to get his hands free he was Hitting him....Bonnar was holding on so tight, that he tired Rashad out...So call it want you want...I called it pure domination by Rashad once again....So the thread starter and anyone else that hates on Rashad knows where they can stick it.

I'm following Moldy with this one like he said "All Ultimate Fighters are dorks". This fact is very true. Nate Quarry, Chris Leben, the list goes on. "Oh I can beat him no problem" then they both get killed. Rashad Evans he is garbage. He's over rated. All he's faught are a bunch of people who didn't win Ultimate Fighter like Sam Hoger and Rashad Evans. That's what all Ultimate Fighters do is fight each other. But when they fight professionals they get raped in the ring. That's what will happen to Sanchez when he fights Parisyan. Bisping, Griffin, and Swick are the only Ultimate Fighters who could get by professionals. All the rest can't. To get with the main point of this thread I agree Rashad Evans is over rated garbage. He's more of a wrestler than mixed martial artist.

If they aren't professionals then who are? They get paid to fight professionally. Funny things is that I don't know a thing about the Pride fighters, and perhaps they're bigger dorks. Though it was nice to see Leben get rocked! But that is because through the programming I got to learn his personality--like it or not.

Evans is the winner of the TUF series. He was undefeated, and beat up Bonnar. Ok. So you don't like the way he beat up all of his opponents. You prefer blood and unconsciousness. I feel that too. But hate the game, not the players.

Not many of the UFC fighters are complete martial artist, but a month ago we all saw that neither is the GrandFather of all of this ROYCE GRACIE as he was exposed by HUGHES. Not many professionals in any combat sport are complete. I can think of only Floyd Mayweather and perhaps Oscar of boxers who have it all: can box, punch, defend, has a Jaw and performs on big stages consistently.

Rashad is a good wrestler, and is learning his Martial Arts. What is amazing is that with limited submission and kicking skills he's figured out ways to dominate his peers. And that's where he get credit. He's got two things that you can't teach: Quickness and explosiveness. And there ain't enough JUICE for the rest of those guys to catch up with him. If he's a quick study, his grappling game will add to his strong wrestling and he'll be tough to beat. If not he'll get KTFO. The other thing is that as a wrestler he's aware of timing and paces himself, but that's the inablility of his opponents to put pressure on him....
