Wtf?!

I am still scratching my head as to why they even bothered to make a Hughes vs. Lytle match.

Hughes gains absolutely nothing for his fight against Lytle. How can Lytle act as a substitute to prepare for his rubber match St. Pierre? St. Pierre is on a whole different level than Lytle, this fight is meaningless for Hughes.

The only possible thing Hughes gains by fighting Lytle is self confidence (if he wins), which did sh*t for him during their rematch. I am not betting that Lytle will win, but he is hungry and he has a puncher's chance. No matter what, this is a win-win situation for Lytle.

It would have been better if Hughes had decided to fight against Parisyan. That would be a much closer fight and get Hughes ready for St. Pierre. And if he can't even beat Parisyan, that will just tell him that he is not ready for St. Pierre.

Discuss.

Hughes gains absolutely nothing for his fight against Lytle. Discuss.

Well, there is the bunch of money that he will make... which I'm sure he doesn't mind getting. Plus, it is another win for his record, but yeah, what a boring matchup...

yeah this isn't the greatest matchup ever. especially if they wanna give hughes a rematch with GSP...that basically puts all the other contenders on the back burner. why not have him fight a contender?

IMO I think Matt wants to practice his standup. Could be wrong. Because he loss to a technical striker in GSP. So for him to stand a better chance against GSP, he prolly wants to get a better idea on how he should improve his standup. Thats my opinion.

I think Silva was high on something when he made this match-up. Especially when Hughes asked for Diego Sanchez. This is just another easy win for Hughes. Three minutes and it will be over.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

To my dismay, yes. The UFC posted Hughes vs. Lytle on the 68 fight card. Here it is.....

What we need is a major upset so that Dana thinks twice about giving his golden boys these kind of cakewalk fights.

I hope Lytle beats in Hughes' face in the worst display of stomach turning, blood curdling violence in the history of MMA.

That'd teach em

Exactly what I was thinking. It's the only reason why they would put him with Lytle. I'm sure Hughes is tight with the Dana and asked to get someone with mediocre stand-up, so he can improve his game. Hopefully Matt can finaly KO someone without getting choked out too.
