Why are you guys so aggitated by Melvin & the people who support him or see talent in him? Just because he hasn't beat anyone? Well, of course he hasn't as he is a relative baby in terms of MMA, and has big holes against good ground fighters, but I fail to see how that leads to such repulsive responses to my comments.

Please explain it to me rationally, how you can act that way when I just said it is obvious many people don't like him b/c he's black and talented?

People don't give Joe that respect because he is a roided up midget wrestler, and it is apparent that is not what the general public wants to see. People want to see people finished and Guillard has the ability to do that with gusto. Joe does too, but the fact is he just isn't as exciting.

DeLarge, your comments about the intellect of his fanbase only serve to show how truly pseudo-intellectual you are. I appreciate an intelligent fight, see Herring v Big Nog, but the fact is Melvin is an exciting fighter. How is it that this makes me a mental midget? I also like Fedor, Liddell, and Gomi is one of my favorites. Everyone likes these guys because they are exciting fighters, and Melvin is too, and at some point they had not "beaten anyone" either.

Of course I bring in the race card because I didn't see anyone hating on Franklin when he hadn't "beaten anyone" (yeah he beat Tanner, lol, umm yeah and?) despite being the champ, and he ended up getting his ass whooped by Silva. The same thing may happen to Melvin, but I think the sky is the limit for him if he is willing to adjust & learn.
when has anyone said he is not talented????? we are saying he is overated becuase he is receiving so much hype that he hasnt earned yet yes he shows potential but that is all it is at this point he has alot of holes in his game that he needs to work on and joe has never tested positive on steriods as far as i know and it doesnt even look like he is on it so your just pulling that completey out of your ass and IMO joe is an exciting fighter and i enjopy watching his fights as he does finish as much as Melvin does. The main reason alot of people are jumping on your comments is because out of no where you started saying we hate on him because he is black WTF where did that come from did i even mention anything about his background at all or are you just assuming the only reason we wouldnt like him is beacuse he is black if that is the case you my friend are retarted

Right but you also see the Guillard fans being stupid comments and all this other stuff that has terribly ignorant feel to it. I made a simple, logical, observation and was completely blasted for it. Now, unfortunately, I will probably have a half dozen or so freaks following me around from post to post & attacking me until I get sick of it and leave; only because I implied *gasp* some people might be hating on Guillard EXCESSIVELY only because he is black.

I'm done discussing it because some people obviously agreed enough by the replies to merge & delete. Take it for what you will.

Good point azn, and we both love Gomi so I was shocked to see you attacking me about that post, but where else do you see people talking about the intellect of a fighter's fanbase? Nowhere. Only Guillard and there are other fighters who have looked beastly against lesser opponents and built a fanatical fanbase, *cough Nate Quarry cough*, but you never saw these comments about them....

Guess the conclusion just kind of draws itself.

Ha, that was a funny arguement.

It has nothing to do with him being black.

Joe has never tested positive for steroids and IMO Melvin would be the one on steroids not Joe.

Melvin is not a baby in terms of MMA, he was the most experienced fighter on TUF2 next to Joe. He has like 40 fights or something and he still can't get a ground game.

He's exciting yes but anyone would be exciting when they're fighting no names and 38 year old karate instructors.
