So just for some discussion how do you think the fight would go it Lutter was able to keep the fight on the ground.

If that was the case then it would be a very boring fight as Lutter has the most boring GnP game ive ever seen, little elbows and little hammerfists and basically just ensuring he maintains or improves position. The only way he'll take him down is if he overpowers Silva and pushes him into the fence (which is quite possible). However Silva has great footwork and is really quick and i doubt Lutter will be bale to catch him and hold onto him. I think Lutter is gunna try and clinch and push him to the fence but he wont be able to catch him and he is gunna eat alot of jabs and crosses trying to do so. I would expect one of these right hands to stun him and then Silva to finish him off with an array of punches, knees and kicks.

Even if he takes the fight to the ground, I see Anderson's BJJ as being able to neutralize Lutter. I don't really think that Anderson is going to submit someone who is as good on the ground as Lutter is, but I don't see Lutter submitting Anderson easily either.

I see Anderson being able to neutralize Lutter's submissions and strikes and getting both of them stood back to their feet. Once that happens, I see Anderson going back to work on Lutter.

if it goes to the ground then its going to go to the bell. simple as that. lutter wont be able to submit silva because silva's bjj is good enough to nuetralize it. lutter works the ground very slowly and most often he goes for a better position rather than striking from the top. i think if it goes to the ground it'll be a pretty bad gnp clinic from lutter till the bell.

im thinking that this fight could be in the early running for fight of the year...i see lutter beating silva in the first 2 or 3 rounds, but then silva takes it late with strikes...

really intrigued with this fight...cant wait...

PS: watch for a flying knee by silva ala what he did against carlos newton...

I agree. AS is more well rounded than TL with enough of a ground game to defend well and get the fight standing again. Silva by knockout within two rounds.

By far the most interesting fight on the card. Natural strength is a big factor on the ground. As strong as Silva is on his feet, he's not that strong on the ground. Silva will probably win, but still it's more of a contest than the other 'matches' on the card. At least it's conceievable that the underdog will win.

definately

Definately the most interesting fight on the card. The fights for rampage jackson and filipovic are just like bringing in the sacrificial lambs for slaughter. Anyway i give this fight to silva in the 3rd by knockout. I dont see lutter gettin anywhere with the takedowns if he gets in close enough to silva for a deep shot silva will clinch him and beat him to death

This fights going to be quick. Silva I bet is pissed about Lutter not cuttin weight. I look for another 1st round TKO by Silva. Lutters look in his eyes, to me, says it all. I think its the reason he didnt cut weight. He was psyched out by the fact he could win the title and become big in the US. I think you'll see it tonight when he enters the ring... and if he does win... He is gonna feel like the biggest ass in the world for not cuttin that extra pound.
