I didn't notice the look of horror on peoples faces at first glance. Man, what a scarily awesome KO.

Rashad is becoming quite the awesome fighter. This further proves that Greg Jackson runs one of the best camps. I can only imagine how better O'Brien would get if he trained in NM.

The punch at the end was just pure instinct, especially with an explosive fighter like Rashad he's taught to continue to stay on his man until the ref stops...probably got overly excited as well, no big deal.

You're just a cook...

You keep swinging until the ref stops you. It's the refs job to stop the fight, it's the fighter's job to finish the fight, and that's the way they train.

he could've walked away like a complete badass and looked awesome...the ref would've stepped in...

that's what i woulda done anyway. nothing better then connecting with KO kick then turning around and walking back to your corner like nothing happened.

Absoltely right. Remember that the ref at this match wasn't a standard UFC ref - if Big John had been there, Evans wouldn't have landed the punch. He wasn't wrong for doing it, though. When you see a weakness, when you see a fighter hurt, you close in for the kill and finish the fight. That's the way it is - if you hesitate, your opponent could recover, and you could be on the canvas next.

Easier said than done, that was happening at full speed in the heat of battle, it was just absolute instinct,so many fighters have done the exact same thing, it all depends on how fast the ref reacts on how many shots a downed opponent will catch.
