Liddell has nothing to prove.

With nothing left to prove should Chuck Lidell keep fighting and wait for someone to beat him. What bother's me about the UFC is there are fighters who can move up or down and beat the current champions of other divisions.

Do you think Anderson Silva can beat Chuck Lidell if he moved up.

Do you think GSP could beat Lidell if he moved up.

I like Chuck and I think he is a great champ but I also think it is a matter of time beoire fighters like Silva and GSP show up in the L/H division. I would hate to see Chuck stay to long and go down like some others. It hurt to watch Shamrock in the end be beaten up that bad time after time.

Of course he has something to prove. He's a fighter, he always has to prove his worth. And why does it bother you that people can move up or down the weight brackets? Oh noes chuck might lose.

But to stay on topic, i think silva would beat chuck and chuck would beat GSP.

The thing about weight classes is they seem to close. There are guys at 170 that look 205 easy.

I looked at the WBC boxing weight classes and they are similar as far as being 15 to 20 pounds apart.

Welter's 141-147

mid's 155-160

L/H 170-175

Heavy 201- up

I guess some MMA guys are more muscular so they seem to be bigger then they are.

He should at least fight Rampage again. And if (not when) he beats him, he should retire, only to come back for one fight with Wanderlei.

Question No Way!!

No way does Silva or GSP beat Chuck. He's just naturally too big for them. If it's so easy to move up in weight then why don't more fighters do it?
Vanderlei did it in the Pride Open Weight and Dan Henderson did it with Vanderlei (2 coming soon) but there are very few fighters who go up in weight and keep the power they had in lower weight divisions. That's why someone like Franklin moved to MW. His natural weight is more 205 than 185 but his size gives him an advantage. Chuck would knock out every 170lb fighter you put in front of him period. Silva is in my opinion a small 185lb fighter and GSP is a big 170lb fighter. I think the fight might be GSP vs Silva but definitely not Silva/GSP vs Chuck.

Mirko can easily make 205 (as its been previously suggested in severeal threads). If he decides to drop to 205 to fight for the title, Chucky is in trouble. Either way (whether Corcop wants to drop to 205 or not), I think they should fight if Chuck dominates Rampage -because there would be no one else in the UFC for him to be challenged by.
Cool?

HAHAHAHA. GSP as a Light heavyweight! Could you imagine the gut he would have by gaining 40 pounds. Of course Chuck would beat him because GSP would be out of shape. No way shape or form is GSP moving up.

Also, Chuck has plenty to prove. The man is a fighter. New talent is coming to the UFC everyday and just because Chuck has beaten all of the big names (save Rampage Jackson) doesn't mean there is no one left. The new talent may surprise you.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

Also, the UFC light heavyweight division would be in sorry shape if he did leave.

Everyone keeps saying that Cro cop should go down to 205 when he beats Sylvia but i think you guys all forget that fighters don't decide who to fight. Dana white is not going to let Cro Cop take Chucks title because then what happens. Cro Cop can only fight a few times a year. So does that mean 2 HW fights and 1 LHW championship fight a year if he wins? Then the line will be even longer to get a title shot for other fighters. The reason boxing can allow more movement between weights is because there are joint organizations with a million belts and weight classes. With the flood of new fighters in the UFC, from other major organiztions or just talented new comers getting their first big shot, Dana can't afford to have fighters holding more than one belt unless he makes some changes to the wieght classes, belts, ect.
