Did Heath throw that fight??

Am I the only one who thought while watching that fight, that Heath was throwing the fight. I was screaming OMG this is a work. I never ever accuse a fighter of throwing a fight, but this one was fishy to me. It just looked that Heath was lettign him self be controlled. And even when Heath knocked O'brien down. He didnt even try to finish him. I have seen Heath fight numerous times and he has a much better ground game than that. I gotta watch the fight again to be certain, but I would not be suprised if someone in vegas was getting rich.

P.S. O'Brien was like a 4-1 underdog, thats a big pay day in vegas

i dont think he threw it. but if you check out ufc's web-site...he says he tore his mcl 3 weeks prior to the fight but continued training, aka why he was wearing that knee brace. he said he rushed things too much because he heard the fans booing and in doing so he left himself open for takedowns and overall he couldnt do alot cause of the knee. so he didnt throw the fight, but by fighting injured without telling anyone he sure did a dis-service to the fans who expected him to be alot better than what he was.

man, dana white must have been crying on his money last night after he spent the cash to get that stiff into the ufc. I've seen him fight before and he's always boring. not sure what they thought they were getting.

Actually that did cross my mind in the third round but it didn't really register again untill you brought it up. I was in complete shock when I saw him sprawl, it looked like he sprawling but you can see his legs plant solidly on the ground midway into the sprawl and then leaning inwards with his knees. When you watch the fight again Heath looks like he gravitates towards and underneath and around Jake like a ragdoll when Jake clearly isn't showing that kind of strength or power during his takedowns in the later rounds despite he's an awesome wrestler. When heath had the opportunity to stand up from half guard (his very weak and opened half guard) there was no hip movement and his legs remained dormant in the air. You would atleast expect to see some sorta of effort or a tiny jerk of the body...when he did make position movements they always seemed in Jake's favor... but yeah I just hope this is all circumstancial incidents due to his injury... but I understand why you would think he was throwing because my main thing is that he was acting completely clueless to mma, if he was fighting injured yeh but his movements looked more like a beginner fighter than an injured vet. And we've all seen injured vets fight.

This guy was not hurt. When the fight started if you watch close he kept throwing jabs and punches that missed by a mile. It was clear he was not trying to hit this guy. Joe Rogan commented numerouse times on how inefective and amaturish he looked. People who have seen him fight all could tell he was not making any effort to fight. After the fight he tried to say something like O'brien did not want to engage. This guy had every oppertunity to throw punches look for submissions anything but did not do anything untill 20 seconds left in the fight. If I worked for the mma or state commision I would be looking long and hard at this guy for throwing this. In his defense I see he only had one fight last year and 2 the year before. It was also clear this guy was not in shape at all. I did get a kick out of him coming to the ring like Billy bad ass. But that was about as tuff as Heath Herring showed last night. Wast of money by the UFC for sure but most of all the fans got ripped off by this bum coming out there and turning in what could be argued as a very very poor training session.
