I think it's Heath's fault for letting O'Brien lay on him for a long while. Heath kept giving up positions. If you want the fight to be stood back up, then wouldn't you neutralize him? Heath let the guy get full mount, and get his back like it was nothing.

You got no arguement from me there bud. But I am kinda curious about these rumors about his acl all the sudden. I don't like excuses or anything, but I would like an explanation as to why he put on such a lousy performance. Kinda like how I wanna know why Dokonjonosuke Mishima gave Stevenson the guillotine choke 4 f*ckin times in less than 3 minutes. Heath knows his ground game. He may not have good offense but O'Brian held him down a lot easier than a lot of other fighters have like Nog and Fedor and such.

Heath Herring showed the WORST display of JJ I've seen in modern MMA. What, did he expect for O'brian to just stand there and take a beating. Regardless, O'brian fought the smart fight, and he now has a win over a hyped heavyweight.

Shit, IMO, the only reason Heath was any good was because of the knees on ground. Now that he is in the UFC and they don't allow that, his offence is pretty limited.

I have been riding the guy pretty hard but he does deserve most of it coming into a fight not prepared and then complaining about the rules that these guys have been fighting under for a long time. I have seen some great fights in the UFC with the rules the way they are, Now Heath Herring comes along and the rules stink because he gets beat by a guy who trained for this fight. O'brien used the limited skills he had to beat Herring. To hear Heath tell it O'brien ran from him all night. Hey you know what this bum had 15 minutes to get at O'brien and jacked the fight off. He does not deserve any understanding for that. Rampage is here and Cro Cop I bet we are not going to hear or see that kind of garbage from them. These guys will train and come in and take care of buisness cause thats what professionals do. Bottom line

They need to put him in against a striker for an exciting match. I would much rather NEVER see his opponent Jake O'brian again. Perfect record or not, all he does is take them down and control them. Wow! You can get a guy down! Now what do you do?

That's exactly how I felt...the hype was huge and the fight was big letdown.

Check out Heath's interview on UFC.com. My understanding was that Heath was wearing a knee brace because he had a MCL tear, not an ACL (which would be much worse). Then he just attributed it to ring rust, he also said he went in to Knee obrien's head off just to remember that UFC doesn't allow it.

Also, I think it is very much legal for UFC fighters to literally just run away. That's always been gay IMO, but I"m not sure what else they can do. If you can't outstrike a guy,y ou'd be retarded tog o after him standing(though Chuck convinces so many people to do so)...

Hopefully Herring with come back much stronger and perhaps meet up with O'brien again.
