Will you guys stop with this thing already!?
Don't be mad at O'Brien for his lack of experience at submissions....
You guys say Lay n' Gay like any "bum off the street" can come in and ****ing take Hearing down at will, then achieve full mount, then take his back. I mean, it's not like O'Brien wasn't doing anything all fight (other than the last few minutes when he was simply holding on to the win).
O'Brien either put on a dominant performance or Hearing really stunk it up, or both? Either way this fight is --==ALL==-- Hearing's fault, and he should either learn how to use a guard, or some take down defense.

All I meant was if it is okay for O'Brian to basically run away from Heath's standup, then would it be okay for Heath to just run away from O'Brian everytime he tried to take him down? If people were allowed to fight like that, any bum off the street would stand a great chance at beating a quality fighter, but all you would see is running away constantly. It doesn't really matter though, even if O'Brian did try to engage with Heath, Heath prolly still would have lost seeings how he wasn't even attempting to sprawl. So as long as when O'Brian did engage in the standup, he didn't get KOed, he could still go in for the takedown each time. But don't just stand back and let the guy overpursue and THEN take him down. That's just cheap IMO.

LOLOL, again I literally agree with everything you are saying. Except I DO think it's legal to run away. That's why guys just have to corner people into the fence or get a good hold of a leg or two in order to prevent someone from running away. I think it's gay for the audience but seems like it's a legit and legal strategy. Donno if you'll be invited backt o fight again though.
Seemed to me that Heath literally COULDN'T run away from O'Briens takedowns. Jake O'Brien got dropped by a jab while heath got put to the mat by the weakest takedowns ever. What a horrendous fight. They both deserve a Crocop left high kick.

Heath is a better fighter than we saw that night. O Brien didnt keep busy and layed on him most the time. Heath is a good fighter when he comes in good condition, his conditioning that night was horrible. He will be back and in better shape next time hopefully. He looked fat on UFN he's usually trimeed up pretty well

I wasnt impressed with o brian because the reason he took him down and was able to get a mount so quick wasnt because hearing was good it was because he was showing absolutely no grappeling defense. Obrian wasnt great and neither was herring it was a battle of two mediocre to sub par fighters

You make some good points . O'Brien couldn't finish but Herring stunk way worse. See my edit above, tells how I see this right now. Pasted in this message also.
EDIT from above: Okay true not the big lay and gay like Travis Lutter. O'Brien tried it is true, he got mount and got Herring's back 50 times, he just couldn't submit or beat Herring despite those dominant positions over and over. That was frustrating. It was almost like his full mount was nothing to Herring. Felt like he was shooting blanks is all, perhaps not total lay n gay I admit.
